  wife and i have not reported a single hour of fs in 3-4 months.

  while my wife is mostly doing for me (positive thing), i know she would have rather done it.

  elder asked me to turn in my fs report this past week and then he added... "we need to talk".

  just tell them you have nothing to report, sorry.

  Then they might impress on you the importance of preaching, and you go yes, I understand it, but it is not easy, my heart is not with it, I don't feel the same good vibes like I used to. Then he request you for an appointment, and you agree on next Saturday. On Friday night, you call him to say something has come up (no details its none of his business) . You do this 2 times in a row and he gives up. If you cancel a couple of appointments, the will stop.

  How, exactly, does Watchtower's literature publishing bring them money?

  i've heard is said many times that watchtower is a publishing company bringing in money from the proliferation of its literature.

  how exactly does this process work?

  i know that jws are encouraged to tell the householders of the donation arrangement to support the worldwide work.

  It is not the householders who pay fir the literature, it are the JW who pay for it all. Money is made by:

  - donations to the worldwide work in return for literature which is hardly read

  - monthly congregation contributions to the society as per resolution, e.g. car for circuit overseer, building loan,...

  - donations at the conventions, assemblies,...

  - buying land, building with free labor, then selling of kingdom halls, bethel homes,...

  - heritage going to the society (they made a special brochure for this)

  - last but not least: tax free status

  I have never slept so well since getting to know that JW faith is just a shaky house of cards and leaving it behind me, together with my other half.  Many are the worries of JW in my area who feel they are not doing enough, or cannot live up to what is expected from them. And many are the guilt trips in the new JW TV channel videos. Billy Graham will look like an amateur soon compared to law school Tony Morris 3. If the governing body is so humble, why are they still forcing unbiblical and harmful teachings upon the poor witnesses, something condemned with the strongest words in the bible. For one, where is it written in the bible you should not get a decent university education. Many lives would have been easily more interesting if they had taken the opportunity to increase their education. the contents of your cart is not even a shadow of what Jesus taught in the 1st century. JW have turned into salesmen, and the JW leadership into merchants. and we know what Jesus thought about that. The only reason JW exist today, is because some people (the Adventists) did not want to believe the end did not come in 1844. JW , as off-shoot of the Adventists, still cannot accept, after 170 years of hoping, and tens of unfulfilled promises, the end is not near. Millions of lives have been wasted on waiting for an Armageddon that did not come, and is not going to come. I hope your master has enrolled you in a wheelcart 401k, otherwise you will never be able to give your wheels some rest when they start aching from old age

  this is also terminating the previously applauded quick builds. instead of erecting a hall on one or 2 weekends, it will take longer now. and it offers an extra career opportunity in the org, becoming a full time builder in service of the org.

  it has been noted before that doctors who need blood transfusions during routine operations, are usually butchers, which should not be trusted with a scalpel. this one seems a real bad one.

  i have been lurking on this site for many years.

  i rarely post anything, because my english isnt the best and not sure if anyone understands.

  i just recently had a run in with an elder, have not seen him in a few years.

  1st of all, you have no obligation to him, he has no authority over you, so do not allow him any influence over your decisions. if you do not want to go to the meetings, or any other jw activities, just tell him so. 'sorry, i understand this is something big for you, but i have lost interest' or similar. i tried it, and it works.

  2nd, every single point he might being out can be debunked, with the bible. even if you are not up to the task, he still has no real point. are we living in the time of the end¿ according to their own understanding, the time of the end is already going on for 140 years, and no sign of the end yet. do we have to go from door to door¿. taking a look in the kingdom interlinear learns us that 1, nor Jesus, nor his apostles, nor Paul ever went from door to door. 2 the only place where 'from house to house' is mentioned, literary says ' do NOT go from house to house', a command from ... jesus.

  so there is no reason at all you should feel intimidated

  faders: why do we bother staying in?.

  we cling to some false hope that people we love will accept us despite our not believing, even though its as much a fairytale as the dogmas based on untruths.. ive never been anything but a good friend and human being and would do anything for the people i love; i couldnt dream of shutting out someone i care about.

  and its not like theyd revel in the idea of doing it either, yet its seen as not just the only choice, but also as undoubtedly the right thing to do.

  many people who got disfellowshipped could not process the rupture, because there was no-one they could really talk to, and they never get rid of their feelings of guilt. by avoiding the DF, you increase your chances to keep the process of disconnecting going on at your own chosen pace. some of the 'friends' will stop talking to you, and others not. it gives you some time to build up a network with people outside the org before you really walk away.

  that is what i gathered from my own experience

  but, it really taught me one thing: if you're trying to fade or stay in, trust no one.

  my stbx introduced me to this site and then a whole buch of life happened and i just sort of never had time for forums.

  quite obviously your hubby is exploiting you big time. a parasite as far as i can see. and blown all the chances to straighten up. he needs a good kick in the butt

  today i had some of my worst experiences.

  i saw a jw group walking on preaching.

  one of them knows me well, we share a lot of week-end on rbc.. my first reaction was rage and nerves.

  Funny enough, a happy former JW does not fit into the view of JW, so they are very unprepared to handle this. Usually if you approach with a friendly long-time-no-see-how-are-you-doing greet, they will respond in kind. Of course it can be very different if you are DF'd.
