The Bible they claim to use shows that Jesus and his disciples dressed appropriately for each activity. For example, Jesus removed his outer garment before washing the other people's feet. The apostles who were fishermen worked in their undergarments or even naked. They did not wear their "ministry" clothing. Photos like this provide more proof that this is a mind-controlling cult.

Why are they at the beach when rightly disposed ones in the territory might be praying for one of God's representatives to come to their door and show them how to be God's friend? There will be plenty of time for beach outings in the New Order. Those people should be cleaning the Hall if they've fnished with field service for the day. They cannot pretend to be informally witnessing at the beach because no one else is there. Yes, even the worldlings know better than to give in to the selfish pursuit of pleasure.

If you make up an excuse such as masturbation or some other sin, they will try to help you overcome it. (That's their duty as elders.) They'll expect you to overcome it even after you step down; they'll be asking you about your "progress". When I was reaching out I've had individual elders ask me if I masturbated or not. I remember at least one asking if I was circumcised or not.
But if you use your health condition as the reason, there is nothing they can do about that.

Sparlock Child's Toy Makes Jehovah Sad!
by frankiespeakin inwell according to the governing body aka> jehovah's spokesman for the entire earthly population, a toy such as sparlock that is in the posession of small children who's parents are jws makes jehovah "sad".. well if that is true then jehovah needs to see a psychiatist for depression caused by unreasonableness and phobias.
if this little child toy makes him sad, and prone to wrath and murder, as biblical accounts show him wipeing out vast portions of the human and animal populations when his sadness hits major proportions, he also needs to take some anger management courses to get a handle on his sanity and riegn in his jealousy which seems destructive and out of control at times.. it is no idle speculation that if jehovah finds sparlock offensive and makes him depressed, he's got some serious mental issues, but realistically this sadness is all a projection of the governing body and shows them to have the issues that they are projecting on a imaginary figure whom they call jehovah.
in other words the currant governing body are a bunch of mentally sick bastards in a delusional state of mind..

So...Jehovah does not intervene when "his possession" were in the Nazi concentration camps, but he has a cow over a child's toy. Even before that, he first creates everything and then "feels regret" in Noah's day.
Definitely unbalanced. He needs the kingdom to come and make him perfect.

Welcome to the group. When I was a MS I was single, worked 50 hrs/week, took care of several elderly bro and sis and my house and animals and my non-witness handicapped mom. I was the accts servant, the asst school overseer, handled mikes and the sound system, was an attendant, had at least 2 meeting parts each week and gave public talks. Was also "on call" for last minute substitute Sunday speaker (got a call Sat 9pm asking me to give a public talk in the morning), made shepherding calls, worked in the prison ministry, AND put in at least 20 hrs/month field service. Oh and I frequently cleaned the entire hall by myself and frequently did outside work by myself (raking, trimming bushes, sweeping etc)
But still that was never enough. And never good enough. One Saturday I was supposed to take the group out in service but that morning I decided not to show up, and to just never go back. No one called or stopped by until about 4 or 5 years later. (New circuit overseer?) Then they wouldn't leave me alone so I wrote a letter to the elders saying I had left the organization "several years ago" and asked them not to call ad not to come on my property.

Do you miss "dressing up" for the meetings?
by dozy ini was thinking about this the other day when doing a bit of tidying up of my wardrobe.
all the kh suits are now pushed to the back of the wardrobe and i am seriously thinking about a visit to the charity shop to get rid of most of them.. for me one of the (few) enjoyable aspects of being a jw was getting dressed up.
my secular work very rarely involves putting on a dress suit & tie so i miss getting dressed up - smart suit , tie , shiny shoes , slapping on the aftershave.

Actually, I did not like dressing up at that time but I certainly do now.
At that time, I dressed up because it was required. I hate to shave, but I used to have to shave again in the evening after work, for the meetings. Or else for conventions and assemblies I'd be dressed up and sweating my butt off, helping elderly sisters in and out of my car, walking across the stadium parking lot carrying lunch coolers in the heat or rain. I certainly don't miss field service in the Florida sun where you sweat so much even your tie and belt get soaking wet with sweat.
Now if I dress up it's because I want to, for a special event...a special date, going to the symphony or a wedding or funeral. Most churches don't have a dress code; if I go I wear business casual.

JW - Miami Bus Crash - Update Miami Herald - Wed 5 Dec. 2012
by RubaDub inalready late for work, but there is a leading article in todays miami herald (wed 5 dec 2012, english version) about the bus crash on saturday that killed 2 brothers and injurred about 25 others on their way to the west palm beach assembly.. much of the article focusses on the comments by one of the airport police who first arrived on the scene.
basically the two who died were side-by-side on the second row, crushed by the roof of the bus.
three others are still in critical condition.. sorry i have to run but someone can detail this later.. rub a dub.

This is very sad. The fact that they're JW's is irrelevent. These people were on their way to the convention or some kind of meeting. They placed their trust in this driver to get them there. He should have known the height of the bus, and a sign indicated the height of the overpass . The first news report said he was going 20mph which had to be a lie.
What makes it more sad is that if the driver is a witness, probably none of the injured ones will sue and he will probably keep his "privileges" if he has any. He's responsible for the death of two people. Even though it's accidental it's still manslaughter.
