@sbf: Keen observation. It does put his overall outlook into an odd category.
He’s committed so much of his professional career to the 607/1914 doctrine. His entire life must feel invalidated at some level.
well known norway elder and watchtower doctrine apologist, (rolf furuli) was disfellowshipped a few days ago for the crime of expressing opinions contrary to some watchtower dictates.. like wt leadership in the past, they have no problem eating their own..

i know we are living in the "last days" of this system of things, but it is getting creepy around the house..
@Rub: I think you should test your hypothesis. Go get a realistic creepy mustache, take off your clothes, and hug a pillow.... see if it leads anywhere interesting.
you probably didn’t even realize you were a racist until you were enlightened by the “woke” group.
so do you feel the need to make amends and do the right thing??
?.

I thought Min was a bot. Wait, are you saying he’s real?!

The city of Columbus has removed a statue of Columbus.
*sigh*

Mean...so maybe I’m an unconscious racist?? I get it. I think 🤔
I don’t think you do “get it”. Because if you did “get it”, then you would either be a conscious of your racism, or a BLM communist activist. There is no middle ground here. In fact, there is no ground at all, only spatulas.

@min: By definition, you don’t realize it. It is “unconscious”. You may think you aren’t a racist, but thinking involves the conscious mind. You are not a conscious racist, you are an unconscious racist.
For example, you probably passed by a syrup bottle in the shape of a black woman at some point in the last year. When you passed by, you didn’t consciously think that the only right thing to do is burn down the neighborhood and riot on behalf of a communist style redistribution plan. This was, of course, racist on your account. And we trust that would be your natural conscious course of action (any reasonable human would riot). Therefore, your racist action (which was the inaction of not lighting the grocery store on fire) was unconscious.

i will try to post a link.. jtg.. australia.. institutions refusing to join the national redress scheme are "doubling down" on the crime of child sexual abuse, prime minister scott morrison says.. mr morrison and social services minister anne ruston have warned institutions they may lose funding and tax concessions if they fail to sign up by tuesday's deadline and will be named and shamed.. "all institutions are doing in not joining is doubling down on the crime and doubling down on the hurt," they said in a letter to 25 institutions.. "we consider it to be reprehensible that you have failed to sign up to the scheme.".
the jehovah's witnesses is among the organisations that has refused to sign up, arguing it does not have the institutional settings of other faith-based institutions that the redress scheme is designed to cover.. senator ruston is set to name the non-participating institutions on wednesday, when she will announce what action the federal government will take against them.. "we urge you to join the scheme not because of concerns about being identified, but because it is the right thing to do," the minister and mr morrison said.. "it is the right thing to do by survivors and their families and it is what every, decent, honest, australian demands.".
@AA:
Thanks. That’s what I figured. I can easily see the WT not wanting to commit to anything. Even though they would have an independent review, I’m sure they don’t want to held responsible at all. And I can easily see them not wanting to show any sign of guilt.

I read through this thread, and honestly didn’t know what this scheme is all about. Looks like the site is here:
https://www.nationalredress.gov.au/about/about-scheme
I’m still not sure what it all entails. The idea is that an organization “signs on” to the scheme. Then people who have been abused in the context of that organization come forward. They get counseling, acknowledgement, apologies, and a payment of some amount. Do I have that right?
When the organization “signs on”, does that organization agree to pay whoever comes forward no matter what?
I’m guessing the WT doesn’t want to sign on because it implies guilt, and obligates them to pay anyone that comes forward?
many of us have watched the gb #4 update.
most of us jumped for joy when they basically said that there will be no meeting in person for a long time to come.. one aspect we overlooked was how hard they hit home the "love of neighbor".
how this "love" is what makes a true christian and as a result our love for our neighbors will motivate us to stay at home.. well now they released a letter that is instructing all kh's to view this video during their local needs part.
Question: What’s the motivation here? So you are saying the GB are telling people to stay home, and if they don’t, they will be dragged in front of a committee? Why do they want you to stay home so much? This doesn’t seem logical.
