it's becoming unbearable for me to attend another meeting.
i dread coming to the weekly sunday public talk and watchtower study.
the talks are ''repeats'' of a ''repeat.
When I first attended a meeting at a KH, I found it very interesting because it was so different from the church I grew up in.
But then I soon realized that WT meetings were essentially all the same.
I found the WT studies to be nothing but mindless repetition.

Meanwhile, they are selling KHs like crazy, forcing JWs who built their halls to go elsewhere.

17 - some of the “great crowd” are now serving in position of “princes,” .
Are all elders considered princes?
JWs have to obey them as if they are.
if anyone were to come up to you claiming that they are the faithful and discreet slave, how would you go about proving them to be false, based upon scripture?.
estephan.
Do dozens of false prophecies and doctrinal flip-flops qualify as disproving the claim?
If not, what would?
one of the first prayers that many people learn is the lord’s prayer, which jesus taught his followers.
this prayer is found in what is commonly called the new testament.
the prayer begins: “our father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified [or hallowed].” (matthew 6:9) yet, god’s name, rendered in english as “jehovah” or sometimes “yahweh,” is rarely found in english translations of the new testament.
Interesting that Jesus said to pray, "Our Father..." rather than "Jehovah..."
i have just started to steep the mincemeat for my mince pies in dark rum .
christmas is a big deal in my family and circle of friends.
however among ex jws it's a bit different or so l understand.
I wasn't raised in the borg so it's easy and natural for me to celebrate Christmas.
i think it's been a while since this was asked.

i am lucky enough to live in a small cabin on a lake, i enjoy rowing my old boat and fishing, i play with car projects, and we travel as much as we can.
Jhine,
Do you watch the Cracking the Cryptic Sudoku videos?
If you haven't heard of them, google it and check it out.
You might enjoy them.
why is it important to some that god only have one visible organization to represent him on earth?
why is it important to jehovah's witnesses that people recognize their organization as such?
what makes a witness more moral or righteous or save-worthy if they accept that it is his one and only organization?
Punkofnice,
I have cited that quote to many JWs.
I've never gotten a response.
Deer in the headlights.
Does not compute...

In the mind of many (most?) JWs, the organization is equated with Jehovah and/or Jesus.
It's visible. They are not.
To obey/be loyal to/disobey/reject the organization is to obey/be loyal to/disobey/reject Jehovah and Jesus.
