Well, this is one patriarchal value that I definitely don't agree with! Women are not the property of men!
Otherwise, my love for the rest of the world has increased, I am definitely more peace-loving, I value education, & my family is the most important thing in my life.
i got back yesterday from newfoundland, where my nan had just died a little over a week ago.
i was pretty upset that i wasn't able to see her one last time as she had died one day before i got there.
all in all the family held up as well as can be expected.
GBL, I just read this post. The preacher sounds like an arrogant prick. Your nan, on the other hand, sounds like a very special lady. My hubby's grandma, who is 81 & who I thought was strong orthodox, said to me a few weeks ago that she doesn't really believe in anything at all! She is a gorgeous lady, & I know that her family means the world to her. Enjoy life while you can - it's a great motto. Hugs for you & your mom.

i have not associated for 18 years but as my parents are still very much "in the truth".
i never disassociated myself as i feel to do so is to acknowledge some form of official status over me.

Hi Midwich Cuckoo, a great place to start learning about science is Bill Bryson's 'A Short History of Nearly Everything'. I loved it, my science teacher hubby loved it ... it is very easy to read & a great filler for those of us raised as JDubs!

Why does our understanding of life have to take place within a linear timeframe? Possibly there was no beginning - life is circular, life is everpresent, life is evolution.

onetime(in band camp) i was rushing to get to work and i was really late.
i got there and i forgot my hand bag in the car.
Hmm ... this isn't an injury but was still embarrassing ... my first day at work after getting together with my now-husband I turned up with stubble rash all over my face (red, welts) and a huge hickey on the side of my neck. I got lots of comments that day & felt very very embarrassed ... Now I have a huge range of polo-neck jumpers & my husband has grown a beard!!
