i had become so upset from losing my family and friends that i decided to return and seek reinstatement even though secretly in my heart i did not believe (i was trying to fool the elders).. i awoke from the dream with illusions of actually following through with this idea.

it took me about 5 minutes to arrive at reality.

I still get dreams like this occasionally - dreaming that I have returned to JWdom but just going through the motions. I have had dreams of going to / being at an assembly, regular meeting, service, etc.
In each dream I always have a moment of realization "hey how did I get back into this mess??" then I usually wake up.

WT Nov 4 Study Article - Damage Control??

just been given this watchtower and found the 2nd study article very interesting..... is this the societies damage control to panorama and dateline?.

Higher critics ridicule the Bibles claim to divine inspiration.

Note the clever wording. Saying they ridicule the Bible is a subtle but effective way of dismissing the arguments of "Higher critics". As opposed to saying "Higher critics study, analyze and research the Bible and its history, and argue against its inspiration." which might lead one to wonder what the arguments are. But reducing it to mere 'ridicule' is a subtle shift toward something with less merit than a argument based on many man years of collective research.

Look what's the big deal? The Witnesses were either there to preach or they were there to sell avon or other products. If they were selling products that is normal behavior for a witness who has to make a living. We don't know the makeup situation (ie, do the women wear it) there so why speculate? I read a lot of stories about the women of Afghanistan and many or most of them continued to wear it secretly when in their homes.

If they were preaching that is also normal behavior. If they were preaching sneakily that is also perfectly normal for JWs who have done sneaky things in the face of 'persecution' before.

And finally even if they were in a dangerous area, and even if they were sent there by the WTBTS to preach to Muslims while pretending to sell Avon as a cover, that is still consistent with JW M.O. Don't they believe that everyone needs a witness, even those people in dangerous areas?? They also know that Christians have been killed before as result of their faith. I would not be surprised to see JWs go out to preach like this even with danger like that.

But also remember, the Philippine Govt had said that this particular group was 'on the run', so the JWs may even felt it was safe to preach anyway.

I don't see too much point in attacking the WTBTS over this. It was just a terrible unlucky thing that happened to hit some people who happened to be JWs who were doing normal JW things.

Sorry I didn't reply to this before. I usually just browse the "Active" list so I often post in a thread and then totally forget about it.

I agree with a lot of your gripes about Morrowind. I think the game world is huge but very lifeless. And the NPCs are weak. I was a little disappointed the first time I saw them milling around in the street at 3am at the same spot they were earlier. In NWN it isn't much different. This is not a game where the NPCs go on about their lives. In fact I can't really tell you why NWN is better than NWN, only that I got bored with MW and stopped playing, I finished NWN. It might have something to do with getting sick of trudging back and forth across vivec.
