Craig,
Thanks for the link. Now I don't have to buy it. I am reading "Freethinkers- A History of American Secularism" by Susan Jacoby but I think I will divide my time with "Age of Reason" before my next Amazon shipment comes in.

most informed ex-dubs are familiar with the november 1954 douglas walsh v. the right honorable james latham case.
some of you newer ex-dubs may not be.
each time i read the following excerpt of the court questioning hayden covington (the society's chief lawyer) it still chills me to the bone.
Nathan,
Thanks, I wish they would digitize all their records. But at least it is available.

EVERY READER. This is an excellent expose of Watchtower leadership THINKING. Does Covington's reasoning make sense to you? Are you willing to die for a teaching that may be admittedly wrong, such as the teaching on blood?

Mulan and Niceguy,
It is nice to be back. I have so much catching up to do. SORRY FARKEL.

What?
((Steve))!! Stinkypantz
Just two stinky hugs for being away a month?
Farkel,
Do you have specific court references to this record just for the file. I think after the WT Pedophile Protection Policy is fully exposed in court then this dialog may be useful in suits of a different nature which I hope will follow.

Well Farkel,
If it means anything to you, this post brought me out of a month of silence.
Steve
well, i've been in beijing for a good while already, and tomorrow i leave for xian.
it was quite an adventure getting here.
we flew out of tokyo/narita bound for beijing on ana airlines, and after 20 minutes in the air, i finally caught a glimpse of mt.
Leolaia,
I love the pics along with the dialog.

we have so many vocal posters here, on both sides of the fence....any of you actually involved in your candidate's campaigns?.
how many of you are working to get your presidential candidate in to office?
how much time are you devoting and how?
Excellent Idea for a thread, Bisous
My political awareness has been elevated in the last year. We were DF'd about 15 months ago but just two months ago I walked into City Hall and told the Mayor what I thought. When I get back from our summer trip I'm getting involved in some way in the Presidential election.
At this point I'm more motivated by what I feel needs to be stopped than what I think needs to be started. Mainly getting religious beliefs out of government policy, again.
I too wish we all would put are feelings into action rather then get excited about politics on this board.

today has not been too good.
yesterday, while i was in sydney for the day with a friend (to have a break and do a girlie shopping day)..............i received a phone call from my brother to inform me that a very special cousin of mine in italy had committed suicide.
i was devastated, she was so special and we had been close.. so here i was driving back from sydney last night knowing a loved one was dead!
Dear Bliss,
Everyone's heart goes out to you. I'm glad you found this board so you can share your feelings. You will not only find support but your expressions above are being read by hundreds of people, some of them who may not comment yet but have suffered similarly. As a result you are giving them support.
Years ago as a *%^#^^* elder in the congregation I used to focus on young people and the matter of suicide as it seemed so prevalent. I used to tell them if they have EVER had the notion, the best thing to do was to talk about it. I think it is the same with molestation. Because talking about it not only helps those who are expressing themselves but it helps the listeners to understand and more victims may also find their voice.
I'm glad you have told this story.
