I figured he had asked her sister out on a date and it pissed her off, so she killed her. Hey, I guess all those voices in my head were wrong: I'm not a psychopath after all!! Who knew?!

What a horrifying situation. Why do so many people who are mentally unbalanced have children in the first place? I can't even imagine the horror those poor kids must have felt as they were dying. Christ almighty.......
Last time I looked, the WT doesn't teach you to kill your kids.
Not unless it's for the greater glory. How many JW parents have stood by and let their children die rather than accept a blood transfusion? To me, if that's not 'murder', then it's at the very least 'assisted suicide'.
As we've discussed several times on this board, this religion seems to attract a high number of people with mental and emotional problems and the outcome can be tragic as in this case here. Since they claim that they are "the happiest people on earth" who have the answers to all of life's problems, then stories like this demonstrate very publically that their façade is not quite as intact as they would like to have the public think.

Dec 15th WT: "Be like Solomon and don't go to university / don't be like Solomon and join a sports team!"
by cedars inthanks to 'gayle' for bringing our attention to the fact that the december 15th watchtower has now been uploaded to jw.org.
it doesn't take long to reach the first juicy bit on pages 8 and 9, this time regarding higher education:.
it would be good to ask, am i taking to heart solomons example of treasuring divine wisdom?

Will we let Solomon's course be a warning example for us? A sister might attempt to rationalize forming a romantic link that ignores God's directive to marry "only in the Lord." (1 Cor. 7:39)
Yes. Because we all know that you're far better off marrying some goofy, undisciplined, uneducated, over-bearing idiot with mental and/or emotional problems, as long as he's a fellow Dub, rather than dating someone who is normal, kind, educated, has plans and goals for the future and who will treat you with respect, because he's a 'worldly' person. Yes I'm generalizing here. This does not mean that all JW men are as I described but it seems many are. They don't give a damn if you're happy or miserable, just as long as you don't disobey mother by marrying 'outside of the truth'.
With similar rationalizing, one might share in extracurricular sports or clubs at school, underreport taxable income, or tell untruths when asked to reveal actions that could be embarrassing.
'No harm is practiced, however, by withholding incriminating information from one who is not entitled to know."...Watchtower Oct 1, 1954, par 21, 25
'So in time of spiritual warfare it is proper to misdirect the enemy by hiding the truth.'' Watchtower May 1, 1957 Page 285 - 286.
'We must tell the truth to one who is entitled to know, but if one is not so entitled we may be evasive." Watchtower June 1, 1960, pages 351-352.
'While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it....' Insight On The Scriptures, Volume 2, 1988 pages 244-245.

Fallout from the apostate-bashing WT article?
by cedars ini've noticed there are a few excellent threads on here about sunday's 9/11 watchtower study.
my own analysis of its more blatantly farcical claims (including that of apostates being "mentally diseased") can be seen here.. what i really wanted to know is - what has the fallout been?
has it created any horror-stories within people's families or homes, etc?

The study article pissed my JW sister off as she thought it sounded mightly controlling. She has no intention whatsoever of stopping her association with me, nor do my parents.
So if you're reading this Crooklyn, nice try but no cigar.

My father's funeral
by jwfacts inlast week i attended my father's funeral in hobart.
i was the first time i have been in a kingdom hall in several years, and many years since i had attended the hall of my childhood, but felt like it was just yesterday.
the funeral talk was quite a departure from normal, so worth writing about.

I'm so sorry you had to endure they ignorance and hypocrisy of so many "Chrisitians" Paul. It disgusts me to no end that many of them can't act like normal human beings even at a funeral. We went through something similar years ago when my youngest brother died where the PO told my parents that my other DA'd brother, "shouldn't be talking to people at the funeral". It's hard to believe that they actually believe that their bahaviour is somehow 'normal'.
I can't believe your mother is cutting you off like that too. Trust me, the day will come when she will regret it.

FYI: SNAP has made history today!
by AndersonsInfo insnap has made history today!
in partnership with the center for constitutional rights snap is formally asking the international criminal court (icc) prosecutor to investigate high-level catholic church officials for crimes against humanity.
the story has made headlines across the globe: .

Bella said: I am sure the WTCrookporation will have a field with this not realizing that the same thing might come to bite them.
Exactly. With their usual head-in-their-own-ass mentality, they will gleefully point the finger at the Catholic Church as they are 'exposed as being hypocrites' and part of 'false religion'. Yet when the same media uncovers the same criminal activity going on inside the Borg, then suddenly the media is run by Satan, the accusations are totally false and are being put forth by former members who are "diseased/insane/apostate" and that none of the faithful should pay the slightest bit of attention to any of the evidence that's presented.

Ugly people and crimes.
by Lore ini like to think that i'm perfectly rational at all times.. so in the interest of making myself more awesome i'd like to admit to and try to to fix a prejudice i think i may have.
but i'd also like to make sure it's not grounded in reality.. .
so earlier i saw a story about a woman who killed her baby in the microwave.

jameswood asked: And I saw on a True Crime TV show that the woman (who was absolutely equally guilty) did minimum time for it and is now out and living incognito.
Yep. Karla Homolka is now out of prison, remarried and has a baby and is apparently living in the Carribean, courtesy of course, of the taxpayers dollars. If only these two scumbags had committed their crimes in Texas, both of them would be six feet under by now. Unfortunately, Canada does not have the death penalty.

These two picture-perfect people were responsible for some of the most horrific rapes and murders in Canadian history:
