Considering I used to be an elder it must have been a shock to her. Sadly not a wake up call! I wonder how much longer we'll have together before something gives under the pressure! There is no other way to put this but she is less than not very academic and doesn't know how or care to know how to question things. If the WTB$ said drink the poison she would!
As I suspected. Most Witness women are not educated beyond high school. They get married young, have kids young and would not have a clue how to support themselves if they were ever left on their own. And since higher education is so strongly discouraged, you're right: they have no thinking capacity beyond what they here at the boring-assed meetings and ASSemblies.

Paul was a typical chauvinist for his time, so what he wrote is not surprising. What is disgusting is that there are still some idiots (like the Slobbering Body members), who still try to apply this to our time. This nonsense was written in the same light as "slaves, be obedient to your masters", yet no one today advocates for slavery.

Unfortunately your situation is not an isolated one. I believe that in some of their articles they tell you that you can leave your mate for "spiritual endangerment" aka: apostasy. Your wife apparently has no interest in actually 'testing to see if she is really in the truth' and I'm guessing that, like most female Witlesses, she likes the social aspect of it and has no intention of leaving. Having an "apostate" for a hubby is not only considered "shameful", it's a piss off because she's now in the same boat as "single sisters" and as we all know, single sisters have absolutely no social standing in the congregation unless they're a pio-sneer. Your wife will most likely not be asked out as much as other couples and there's zero chance that her hubby will ever climb the spiritual ladder by becoming an elder, or CO, etc. And in Dub-dumb land, that is the unforgiveable sin.

i am in a spiritual void at the moment after a year out of the borg and 50 years in.. i'd like to hear 'brief' evidence for the existance or non existance of god/s without an argument between members here.. i'd like to get fresh view points as mine is now so critical it's telling me to be an agnostic or atheist.

I don't believe that there is any real evidence for the existence or non-existence of a god.
That's about where I am right now too. On one hand, why would God allow things like disease or natural disasters plague mankind? Yes I know we're responsible for much of our own suffering, but there's plenty of things that happen that are beyond our control. Why would God have ever created such disgusting creatures like gynormous snakes that crush you to death before eating you? Like really...WTF is that all about?
On the other hand, I have a difficult time believing that everything in our universe, including the complexity of human anatomy, is nothing more than a series of random chances. To me, it takes more blind faith thinking it was all a bunch of lucky chances, than believing that something or someone rolled the dice and let the pieces fall where they may.....

Modern-day apostates display characteristics similar to those of the Devil. Their mind may be poisoned by a critical attitude toward individuals in the congregations, Christian elders, or the Governing Body.
I remember reading about a guy who lived a long time ago who had a very critical attitude towards certain individuals in the synagogue, the priests and the Pharisees. I'm pretty sure he was viewed as an 'apostate' too.

hi everyone, first i just want to say if it wasn't this forum, i'd be baptized!
i haven't managed to successfully end my studies with a zealous jw.
she uses everything against me to brainwash me into believing i need the org.
The problem with JW's is that they always want to be in control and they like to give the impression that you have no choice but to obey them. She has absolutely no legal (or even moral) Right to try and force you to go to the ASSembly if you're sick. Or even if you're not sick. This is not nazi Germany and if you do not want to go, you are under absolutely no obligation to go.
In reality, she was far more interested in the status she'll receive if she actually "brings someone into the truth". The fact that you no longer want to listen to their bullshit study, might reflect badly on her (or so she thinks) and that probably infuriates her.
If she bugs you again, tell her that you read Crisis of Conscience by one Raymond Franz and if she really wants to know why you no longer want to study, she should get herself a copy and read it. I guarantee you, she'll never bother you again.
