One thing's for sure, If I had ever turned up at a meeting, let alone gone out in field service wearing a skirt that tight and revealing at her age I would have been severely disciplined by the elders and slaughtered by their wives!!

Billions of money saved, ALL poor elderly jw's to get free care and housing
by EndofMysteries inover the years the surplus from donations have been put into risky investments and each of them blessed with growth and profit beyond comprehension.
all aging and elderly jw's who had sacrificed their retirement planning and financial future for the kingdom work, who had not been expecting to live to this age, shall have full care including room and board for the rest of their lives or until 'the end'.
- if god was directing that organization, then that's something that i'd expect to see.

This is a very sore subject for me. My parents were really devoted witnesses and had always provided their home for the use of the brothers, for group studies, meeting for field service, refreshment breaks during service etc etc etc. The carpets and furniture got worn out due to wear and tear and we didn't have much money to replace them but my parents never grumbled as it was all for Jehovah.
A few years ago my elderly mother, now a widow, desperately needed a stair lift as her health had deteriorated. The cost would be thousands of pounds due to the arrangement of her stairs which none of us could afford. We had never been allowed to have careers. My husband told her about several elderly people he had met in the course of his work who had had stairlifts installed for them by their churches on the understanding that the money would be repaid from their estate after they passed away which seemed fair enough. We told her that after all the years of providing an open home for worship, it was the least the congregation could do, to arrange a stair lift for her. Obviously, the very suggestion was met with horror by my mother. Oh no, she couldn't take from the society, although it had never shown any remorse for all the years it had taken from her! Her pradicament was obvious to the elders who chose to ignore it and not see what the congregation could do to help her after all she had done for them.
There are absolutely no provisions for the elderly JWs as there are in other churches.
In the end, a 'worldly' relative helped towards the cost so that mom could have her stair lift.

Some sisters on instagram have been gushing about how much they enjoyed Samuel Herd's talk and how wonderful he is with such a great sense of humour. I can't say I was laughing much when I listened to his Stepford Wives style talk about women on you tube. Maybe they think that being told that their brains are inferior and that their purpose in life is to get up at the crack of dawn to cook breakfast and bake biscuits for their men is hilariously funny?!!

Did not Attend Mid-Week Meeting but Felt Good - Strange Feeling?
by ProfCNJ inhi folks.
the usual feeling for me - when i missed mid-week meetings - is to feel guilty, sad or depressed.
it normally involved negative feelings.
-
ambersun
Oh yes, I can totally relate with how you feel ProfCNJ. I remember turning up at the end of a Thursday night meeting to collect my mother very early on in my fade and as I heard the final song and prayer, instead of feeling guilty as I had previously felt when missing meetings, I had a wonderful warm feeling of peace and relief wash over me that I had made a stand and not put myself through two hours of WT indoctrination. I think I used the excuse of feeling sick which was quite true as I was sick to death of that religion.
Edited to say, I don't think my initial guilt was because of missing the meetings, but more to do with worrying my family.

HOW CAN WOMEN BE ANNOINTED BUT NO PRIVELAGES IN HALL?
by NoMoreHustle ini had listened to the degrading talk by gb heard (on women) & watched a video on evie bklyn channel & there was alot of interesting questions that are raised.. i had always wondered why can't women in the hall handle mics or run magazine counter etc.?
but they (if annointed) will rule in heaven with jesus.
that is a pretty heavy responsibility to help jesus rule millions of people on earth, but yet they can't pass a mic or even run the sound system in the kh.

Ahh but when the annointed go to heaven won't they lose their physical bodies and become sexually neutral? Willies are only a necessary requirement for full brain function and positions of authority whilst in human form as far as I always understood things.

A woman wants 'the man's' job
---> that woman must want to be a man
---> That woman must want to have sex with women like a man then!
---> Therefore a woman who wants 'the man's' job is tantamount to homosexuality and transgenderism!
Soooo, according to that logic, all the women doctors, dentists, surgeons, university lecturers, lawyers, politicians, bank managers, etc....etc..... have ALL turned into lesbians or had sex changes due to doing what are traditionally considered to be men's jobs?!
And these words of wisdom are coming out of the mouths of men who are demanding unquestioning obedience from all their followers?

I can remember it being instilled into our silly little feminine minds during the early 1970s how inferior we were to the brothers. Besides our tiny inferior brains we were unable to make sensible decisions due to our emotional makeup and we were incapable of thinking logically. Our role as women was basically to act as servants to the men, keep house, cook, clean and produce children. There seemed to be loads of talks on the subject and also magazine articles. Sam Hurd was just one of many elders giving talks of this nature.

I have been out for 25 years and my JW family all seem to accept me for the heathen that I am . I've never officially da'd but I consider myself to be so after all this time, and if my family haven't got the message by now that I'm never going back they never will!
I used to live in dread of the elders coming round and asking questions which would inevitably have lead to me being df'd but I don't really care any more. In fact, I would welcome it as it would help me to feel finally free.
If that ever happens and my family suddenly start to try and shun me after all these years I will just ignore the shunning and tell them to stop being so silly! I am still the same person I have been for the past quarter of a century for crying out loud. It holds no fear over me any more!

Surreal experience last night.
by objectivetruth inrecently a jw friend that my wife & i knew 3 years ago added me on facebook, after i accepted the request she invited me to a dinner that her and her husband are holding next month.. i imagined that she was unaware of our apostasy, so i declined the invitation on the basis of not wanting to ruin her dinner after the rest of her guests fled at our presence.. i'm never sure how old friends will react when i tell them that i'm no longer a jw.. usually their response is "..... permanent-silence......".
her response went something like this, " we are all out!
everyone that is coming is out we all look forward to seeing you guys so much" it turns out that there will be 6 people at the dinner all friends of ours from a congregation that we attended a few years back.. they have all left the organization recently.. pretty crazy experience..
