Jehovah's Witnesses - God's representatives or prophets Watchtower Study
by wannabefree inperhaps this has already been covered ... but .... this especially stood out to me like a sore thumb since the service meeting just days before covered the topic of why jehovah's witnesses are not false prophets.. todays watchtower study from w7/15/10 pg 11 paragraph 18.
(paragraph 18) we too have the privilege of announcing.
jehovah's name and purpose.

October KM non-Christian religions
by wannabefree ini realize that this is pretty much a non-issue, i just found it to be interesting.. as we know, the watchtower often uses a qualifier for christianity by using the term "true christians", which of course jw's know is synonymous with " jehovah's witnesses", all others would be the opposite, or "false christians".. october km, page 2 in the article "new brochure to be offered!
", introducing a november campaign to offer the brochure the bible - what is its message?, mentions in paragraphs one and three people of "non-christian religions", in a sense, isn't the watchtower acknowledging that the opposite of non-christian would be christian religions?.
i just thought this was interesting, even though it isn't meant to be understood that way..

this part made me livid.
our most corporate elder handled this part and i felt my self wanting to refute everything he said.

Helpful suggestions for The Watchtower Society ...
by wannabefree init seems you discontinued the wrong meeting.. 1. reinstate the "book study" at private homes - (and go back to the original name, because changing the name to "congregation bible study" isn't fooling anyone).
2. add a real bible study/discussion to the in-home meetings.. 3. discontinue the other four meetings and sell the kingdom halls ... or turn them into homeless shelters, that would be a christian thing to do.
4. stop printing magazines for the ministry, tracts work just fine.

Jehovah's Witnesses are depressing
by wannabefree inlearning the truth about my faith as a jw (that it is wrong) actually has resulted in me having a more positive outlook on life, postive about today even though it has its problems.. but today, speaking with close jw friends (strong witnesses at that), i find myself hearing nothing but depressed thoughts.
when everything you talk about as a witness is how terrible the world is but soon (for over 100 years) the "new system" will be here ... just hang on ... is it any wonder so many jw's are on anti-depressants?.
it is depressing being surrounded by depressed people.. .

page 14, paragraph 12.
... you should get baptized when you are fully aware of what being one of jehovah's witnesses involves and when you are sure that you are ready and willing to take on this responsibility.

Question about six screens teleconference ...
by wannabefree ini was listening in off and on to the latest teleconference ... first time attending ... some very interesting stuff.. there were a couple of items that i caught that i would appreciate more information on if possible.. 1. information about a circuit overseer recently leaving, currently keeping quiet but possibly going public .... ?.
2. there was a woman talking about how she was a "loose end" for the watchtower, i believe having to do with the abuse issues, i believe she said something about the congregations being instructed to burn any evidence of abuse cases ... ?.
