Tony the Third gives plenty of ammunition to test the faith of older ones, he is a moron.

JW's pride themselves on being cautious as serpents yet as innocent as doves and are thrilled at how they can fool Satan's world. Technically Losch speaks truthfully from a legal, corporate standpoint. And that is what the game is in a court of law.

Got ratted out for celebrating Halloween...
by cognac inone of two things will happen.
i'll get disfellowshipped and never have to worry about being "told on" again for living a normal life, or; they won't do anything.. either way, it's freeing and i feel relieved... it will be sad if i get disfellowshipped but i've come to terms and made peace with it as much as can be expected.
it's a huge weight to have off.. was told on a week ago and haven't heard anything.

I think the Shepherd book says to let it go, although you would not be exemplary, if it's not a religious holiday ... I suppose Halloween is debatable on that one. If you don't want to be disfellowshipped then you have to answer untruthfully, let them know it was a moment of weakness just for fun and acknowledge it was wrong ... Or, it opens the door for you to let it all out and get df'd.

The Watchtower is God's Organization after all, so they won't really consider themselves to be testing the faith of others, rather, they are presenting new and refined truth, so the individual is responsible for their tested faith, and if they can't keep up with Jehovah's chariot that can move whichever way it chooses, well, that's on the individual. Casualties are never the fault of the Organization, it is a sifting out of those who don't belong in the first place.
One paragraph from a whole issue of garbage ...
*** w87 6/15 p. 20 par. 17 Testing and Sifting in Modern Times ***
Year after year Jehovah continues to refine and cleanse his people. Collectively, they have subjected themselves to the refining process as to their organization, activity, doctrine, and moral cleanness. But what about us individually? Through his organization Jehovah continues to dispense “solid food” for guidance that refines the heart. Our motives are tested and examined. (Hebrews 4:12; 5:14) By responding to the refining, cleansing process of the Great Refiner, we keep clean as we await “the coming of the great and fear-inspiring day of Jehovah.”—Malachi 4:5. -

All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not. - w13 11/15
If it is true that some speculate that it will test the faith of older JW's, I speculate it will be a change that has been forced by apostates and the court of public opinion. The kinder, softer side of the Organization, appealing to younger ones and little ones, is certainly all reactionary and has nothing to do with refinements or new light ... although whatever bombshell is dropped will be explained away as from Jah.

Now that I am out, it sickens me to read the comments of the indoctrinated ... excuses ... they are all the same and they avoid the complete picture. Total cult speak. I used to see things with those same rosey glasses.

I still have a hard time understanding how they were allowed to simply not comply with several court orders to release records. I have never, ever, heard of such a thing without some sort of severe punishment.
Not a legal person, so I really don't know, but i would assume it has something to do with the fact that it is a civil case and not criminal.
From http://litigation.findlaw.com/going-to-court/civil-contempt-of-court.html
Civil contempt of court refers to behavior which disobeys the authority of a court in a civil proceeding. Civil contempt is distinct from criminal contempt of court. Most often, civil contempt of court involves failure to satisfy a court order. Generally, sanction for civil contempt end when the party in contempt complies with the court order, or the underlying case resolves. Civil contempt can result in punishment including jail time and/or a fine.
I assume the comtempt punishment applied in this case was not allowing Watchtower to defend themselves.

In fairness, BOTR may have been responding to my comment above. I searched the three listed and found nothing. It's on Yahoo, but I wouldn't consider that a main news source. It was on local California news stations. I was just wondering why it doesn't seem to be big news. I know jw are not a big deal on the grand scale, but most people know one and they are often the butt of jokes ... Just wondered. I think it's a big deal.
