  CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY THIS WEEKEND.

  in my area of the world the 2 day circuit assembly will be held this weekend.

  i was wondering if anybody has attended this years assembly, or had any insight as to the message being delivered on sunday afternoon titled "don't look back...look to the future" (or something to that effect).

  i must speculate and wonder if the message of this enlightening discourse will be to forget all the past mistakes of the society, and concentrate on the paradise earth, and everything that is presented from now on by the society..... "don't grumble about minor adjustments made in god's organization friends, we have to remain steadfast in our support of those taking the lead as they humbly follow jehovah's spirit direction on matters".

  Need Input! Overcoming Active JW Objections re: Letter on UN Website

  the letter the un posted on their site regarding the wt affiliation with the un is great news!

  kudos to everyone who made this possible by taking the time to write the un!

  although most on jwd see this as a big victory, most have expressed that there will probably be many active jw's who will find it suspicious or will turn a blind eye.

  I've sent a link to each of my Jehovah's Witness penpals. I've gotten one response back so far. I haven't decided how to respond. I'm hoping I'll get some ideas in this thread. Here's what he wrote back.,,,,, Why would the society apply for something that would support the U.N.? Had to be a good reason. Maybe to obtain inside information? or was it really the Watchtower society? Hard to believe. Great post...thanks Lisa

  Lap Dancing

  a friend of mine gave me a free ticket to a lap dance club tonight, and ive just got back from there.

  its the first time i've ever been to one so i was intrigued as to what it was all about.

  after going there i dont know what to make of it.

  Lisa, good for you that you bought a house and car. I hear a lot of the dancers would much rather give lap dances to women rather than men. Is there any truth in that? Heather Heather, I have given lap dances to women, most of the time they were paid for by the husband or boyfriend. Would I rather give a lap dance to a women? Ummm... didn't really matter the money was the same color. Xena, My only issue I guess was the way I saw some men treating the women and the way I know my friend was treated by a few, but no matter where you go in life there are going to be a few assholes around....such is life unfortunately very true and this has happenen many times... I would probably end up pouring a drink on a guy's head but we always have this..... I do know that a lot of women who work there, like the control over men. Some of them can be very powerful, and love to play with that idea. They know that the men can't do much is return, or else they will be pointed to the door. And that I think is what makes it a fairly safe environment for the women that work there plus there is always the big bouncers that stood around, who are power hungery and just waiting for a chance snatch a drunk guy out of his seat and take him outside to beat the shit out him SpunkyChick said..   what are your feelings about this sort of thing? It works for me......... In my mid 20's I started working at the strip bars. The first year, I was able to put a sizable downpayment on a house and buy my first new car. I continued working the clubs for the next 10 years. Lisa

  " ( aw 3--8--93, p.4 ) what a striking parallel to "spiritual rape", which flourishes in a society that tolerates spiritual abuse and mind manipulation!.

  the spiritual raping of a witness.. an organization.promises:problems are things of the past!

  Another good post....

  The last time I went to see my psychiatrist, he said that I show the classic signs of a rape victim. I said I've never been raped. He looked at me for a long time then finally said, "Lisa, you were spiritually raped."

  Bid Farewell to Guilt and Regret.

  everyone's past is filled with regrets, mistakes and missed opportunities that still cause pain.these feelings are an index of our humanity, evidence that we have a heart and a conscience.. but from an emotional point of view, they are deadweights that keep us from moving forward.while they can't merely be willed away.i recommend you give yourself a good talking-to.. remind yourself that everyone has negative experiences.but whatever happened is in the past, and nothing can change that.holding on to the memory only allows the damage to continue into the present.. from the april ladies home journal page 82. yes i do read articles in my wife's magazines.i thought this piece might help some of us here on the forum.. blueblades

  Sometimes to be able to move on, we have to stand back first and look at the whole picture.

  Look at what you have now, what you had then, and what you can have and do in the future.

  Me: now = wonderful husband, 2 great children, 2 perfect grandchildren, the ability to pick my friends and how I spend my time, money, and thoughts.

  then = ...............I had my parents then and a sister, a few people that I thought were my friends. I was told how to spend my time, money and what I should be thinking and doing. So I didn't have to think for myself.

  future = any thing that I can imagine....

  which includes, a new grandbaby due any minute... My parents missed out on watching and enjoying my children as they were growing up. They are now missing out on their Great Grandchildren. I wouldn't miss this for anything in this world or beyond.

  As a school teacher, how should I treat witness kids?

  ok, i'm going to college right now and i have about 2 years before i become a certified history high school teacher.

  however, i am already beginning to do observation hours and it has got me thinking.

  i will almost surely end up with dub kids in my homeroom for the flag salute or in my regular classes.

  As a school teacher, how should I treat witness kids?

  I don't even remember most of my teachers names. But I do remember my second grade teacher, who would go out of her way to help me fit in. When the other kids were doing something for one of the holidays, she would let me be her 'special helper' for the afternoon, or let me do a winter instead of a Christmas craft, fall instead of Halloween picture, ect...

  I also remember my third grade teacher that told me to my face that she hated all JW's.

  My physiatrist told me that he had a JW couple that was bringing their daughter to see him. They had named her Armageddon. I don't remember what her middle name was, but it was weird to, like Armageddon Nomore. (or something like that)
