congratulations, buying a house is the smartest thing someone can do. Now, pay your mortgage off as quickly as possible. throw every extra 5 or 10 bucks at it.

Yikes! Propaganda everywhere
by joelbear infrom the watchtower to commercials to talking heads on the news shows.
everyone wanting us to share their point of view.. they want our minds, our money, our votes and our mouths to spread their propaganda.
propaganda controls the cultural and social order of the world.. it takes more time to read, listen to thoughful educational programming and do research, so 99% of people just follow the.

training the individual mind to think rationally is the greatest challenge. we are making headway. will it be fast enough?

Does the average JW feel the "end is near"?
by Bumble Bee inmy hubby recently had a discussion with his older brother.
my brother in law told him he wants to reach out to become a ms. he's going to cut down on his work schedule, go out in service more, spend more time with his son etc.
he's in his mid forties, has always been regular at meetings and fs, but never aspired to reach out before.

well, i like the idea of your husband spending quality time with his son, but life will go on, come war, Katrina, earthquakes, etc. so you have to be rational and prepare for taking care of yourselves.
it sounds to me like midlife stuff going on. its really odd how in men they really begin to question the direction of their life in their 40's. i'm not 48 and am coming to the end of this cycle and have thought things through pretty well.

They have started to shun my JW wife!
by jwfacts inmy poor wife has been quite stressed knowing what to do with her life.
she has never been intellectually interested enough to study whether the wts is the truth, just went because it seemed the best way of life and her family and friends are in it.
when i stopped going she did not know what to do wanting to keep both me and the congregation happy, and becamed fairly irregular at meetings and field service.

fill your family's life with fun activities. simple ones. play board games, go to the zoo. make friends with another family on the street. keep busy busy busy having fun. this will greatly reduce the stress caused by her loss.

hmmm sodom and gomorrah. i heard they had some rocking parties. alas, they are myths, hard to get a good apartment in a myth and the views are terrible.
no, i think it will be south florida, az, nm, ore or washington near the coast. it will take a couple of years, but its a good goal. probably would move far away until after my parents have passed on.
besides if i want homo sex there's plenty of that here in atlanta.

WT about Greed and Money?
by Think inmillions of people from personal experience believe that from the beginning this is all about greed and money.
especialy when they claim that no colections are taken, but they lately constantly beg for more money, bank accounts, insurances, real estates, stocks, houses and so on.
can be that this is the real truth?
-
joelbear
its clearly about money. the whole feel of bethel was centered around productivity and cost cutting. its a huge bureaucracy.
why would you need to print watchtowers over and over again that say the same thing and charge for them over and over again.
same with the books.

I left Jacksonville when I came out. Too hurtful to see all my old pals and places we hung out and not be with them any more.
This is another fresh start.
The Virgin Islands sounds great. not sure I could get a pottery business going there though. that might have to be 2 moves away.

You Know The Truth
by joelbear ineach of us has the ability to discern the truth about ourselves and about life in general.
we must use the ability to keep it strengthened against propaganda, manipulation and outright lies.. we know the truth.. others will pressure us in all types of ways to think they have a better truth than the one we know.
they can even persuade us to think untrue things about ourselves.

the point was, we should trust our own informed minds rather than propoganda which always has an agenda!
