I'm new and wanted to introduce myself
by MarkedFragile inhello everyone.. i'm new to this forum.
i left the organization several months ago, and am on a new path now.
though i didn't grow up in the organization, i have basically lived a life of pretending to be something i'm not, sheltering my feelings from everyone, and not feeling "enough" to anyone.

Why is it so hard for Ex-JWs to make that "final step" and give up Christianity?
by sabastious ini'm not sure if it's just denial on a lot of people's part, but the reason the jws doctrine is so wacky and controlling is because they are among the few religions that really try to follow the bible!.
the bible is the culprit here in actuality, but even after someone has "wizened up" to the misguided teachings of jehovah's witnesses they still hold the bible as inspired word of god.. why don't you believe that the governing body was chosen as the faithful and discreet slave in 1918?
because the only real evidence to that fact is that they say so.

I enjoy mountaineering. Most people who go into the hills will, sooner or later, experience that awful feeling that they are not where they thought they were or the person who was responsible for navigation has messed up.
It is a natural reaction to assume you are only slightly lost and the correct path is only a short detour away. The greater the consequences for being very lost the stronger this instinct. If you are faced with a night on the mountain and a possible rescue the lure of denial is very strong. Often when people are eventually found they have all the resources they needed to rescue themselves but were pressing on regardless hoping for the best. It takes a huge mental and emotional effort to admit you went off down the wrong path just after you got out the car.
When you realise you are on the wrong path spiritually it is natural to assume that the core of your world-view is correct. I became a christian for almost 10 years post-borg, it took a second massive upheaval to finally find my way "home".

Dawkins Says Pope Ratzi Should NOT Resign
by cofty infrom the washington post.
a leering old villain in a frock, who spent decades conspiring behind closed doors for the position he now holds; a man who believes he is infallible and acts the part; a man whose preaching of scientific falsehood is responsible for the deaths of countless aids victims in africa; a man whose first instinct when his priests are caught with their pants down is to cover up the scandal and damn the young victims to silence: in short, exactly the right man for the job..... .

In making this suggestion something tells me Dawkins does not have the best interests of the Catholic Church at heart.
I would think that is a safe bet

Words can't express how much I detest religion and the Church of Rome in particular, they make the borg look like liberal and intelligent
"For those who want to practice God's natural birth control, there are two options," Bevilacqua said. "You can try abstinence or, if you are married, you can try natural family planning, also known as the rhythm method. This has proven up to 87 percent effective, which is more than suitable for maintaining a reasonable household. So long as no seed is spilled, God will not immediately strike you down."
A good rhythm is important of course!
If ever there was an example of an organisation who cared only for its own prosperity it is that shower of bastards in the Vatican. Not only should Jo Ratz resign over the child abuse scandal he should be arrested for aiding and abetting the cover-up.

So will spiders still make webs to catch flys? Will ladybirds still munch on aphids? If not we are in deep $hit?
Even as a loyal elder I rejected this nonsense, always loved the natural world and had too much respect for animals to think of them living in some kind of Disney World for all eternity. Guess it was the first signs of independent thinking

A few times on the circuit assembly. Like willyolman said parts on the DC were mostly for elders who were well connected and generous to the top brass. I did the Watchtower review on the CO a few months before I got DF'd. Actually that was a busy year, I did memorial, "special talk" and assembly talk and got DF'd all within a few months

Jo Ratzinger makes the WT look like amateurs when it comes to covering up child abuse.
It is beyond me how anybody could be associated with this corrupt bunch of hypocrites. I hope the law suits bankrupt them.
I was listening to a spokesman for the church in Ireland on TV last week and his response was that pedophilia in among the priesthood was "no worse than the population in general".

700 club interviews an ex-JW tomorrow
by Found Sheep ini never watch that show but it was on and i heard them talking about interviewing an ex-jw going against the watchtower....

I have often looked in on the 700 club on SKY. Even during all the years I was a christian I hated it passionately. How anybody can defend that bull$hit is beyond my comprehension.
