this isn't about the running of silentlambs.org.
this is about the people themselves who have been abused.
this is from someone who has never suffered from abuse, who is trying to understand the needs of those who have.. how can those who have not been abused help those of us here who have, and what can we do that would be really useful to those persons?.
FIGHT FOR ME
Do everything in your power to ensure that no child is tortured in this manner again. I do call it torture. It is abuse, but it is torture for a child to have to endure sexual abuse then be told it wasn't a big deal or have the parents and the "church" ignore what happened. Pure TORTURE!
DON'T EVER FORGET
Remember those who have been brave enough to come forward and tell their story. We are few and far between. I have not told my whole story to you here on this board, but that is a healing process for me and slowly it will come out. I have no legal recourse and must simply deal with the fact that I was molested ( as well as several other family members ) and we can do nothing about it but sue him in civil court and since he has nothing it wouldn't do any good.
Also, continue to give a place to vent safely. If there is a place, a safe haven, where we know we can come and find others like us, people we can talk to, then that is a "paradise" indeed.
Just my two bits, but I needed to say it.

this is my first post, so i thought i would make it a good one!
the spouse who hogs the covers every night,.

This is my first post, so I thought I would make it a good one!
The spouse who hogs the covers every night,
because he or she is not out with someone else.
The teenager who is not doing the dishes but is watching TV,
because that means he or she is at home and not out on the streets.
For the taxes that I pay,
because it means I am employed.
For the mess to clean up after a party,
because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
For the clothes that fit a little snug,
because it means I have enough to eat.
For my shadow that watches me work,
because it means I am out in the sunshine.
For a lwn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing,
because it means I have a home.
For all the complaining I hear about the government,
because it means that we have te Freedome of Speech.
For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot,
because it means that I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.
For my huge heating bill,
because it means I am warm.
For the lady behind me in line at the store who continually bitches about the prices of food,
because it means that I can hear.
For the pile of laundry and ironing left to do,
because it means that I have clothes to wear.
For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day,
because it means that I have been capable of working hard.
For the alarm that goes of in the early morning hours,
because it means that I am alive.
And finally,
For too much email,
because it means that I have friends who are thinking of me.

we had a total of 5 people show up, including myself, bruce baker presented the lamb, and left a press packet on the door, with copys of the new york times articles.
i got some pictures and video, and we had a reporter for the seattle times, and komo tv 4 show up, they both talked with us for almost an hour.
it was great to have a couple of people share they're personal experiences about being molested with the reporters.
I just emailed you Trauma... so hope you get it.

FANTASTIC!
I would like to leave something like this at my local kingdom hall, but it is a Spanish one so I would need it in Spanish.... any help out there
Also, where can I get a couple of lambs as well?
I could leave one at the neighboring towns hall as well in English.

one thing a jw has to have is a goal.
a goal for getting to the meetings, a goal for answering at the meetings, a goal to pay attention at the meetings.....a goal to go out in field service, a goal to talk at the doors, a goal to place literature.....a goal for everything under the sun!
do you find that you are sick and tired of goals and need a breather, or have you set new goals?
You still need goals. Even in the "world" they teach you to set goals... they just tell you to set realistic goals instead.
I set the goal last year this time to go back to school and get my teaching certificate. One year later I will be starting my student teaching internship tomorrow (9-3-02)! My next goal will be to support my husband as he returns to school to get his paramedic certificate. I will then go back into the program and get my masters degree.
See, goals are not bad things. so go ahead and set some realistic ones.... baaaahhh on the JWs :P

we've been having a bit of fun with our speculations about what ruth is really like, from clues drawn from the watchtower she (or someone) left in a train.
i had a look at the watchtower itself and have been rather amused by its overall cheesiness.
or to quote groucho marx:.
You know that kid does have an evil look on his face.... DEVIL CHILD IN WTS! go figure

i'm considering trying hypnosis to help me win my everlasting battle with weight, but naturally i have feelings of guilt because we were told as jws that we cannot use hypnosis....... .
anyway, has anyone here ever tried hypnosis?
i would be interested in hearing if it helped you at all.
Hi-
You know, I have been wanting to try this of late also, but there is that niggling little voice in the back of my head about it. Hypnosis... I have to admit I am very curious. I have some memories I would like to retrieve and I think the only way to get them is hypnosis.
