Has Your WT Experience Taught You to Be Wiser?
by cameo-d indo you think your wt experience has taught you not to be so gullable?
because of the injustices and bad experiences, have you become a more discerning person?
do you find now that you ask many more questions before you "jump" into things?

It started as a suspician
by acolytes inthe painful truth that bought the watchtower walls crumbling down for me, was not due to to the realisation that the techings were all lies but.
the realisation that many of the elders in the congregation were only interested in their social position and power.. this started and a suspician and gradually became more insistent and finally the realisation that most of the body of elders couldnt care less about the doctrine.. i then observed that many of the more zelouse brothers in the congregation cared more for the security of belonging to the congregation than if they were teaching truth.. this coupled with the fact that 50% of the congregation were simply going through the motions and had know enthusiasm for preashing the "good news"made me question the teachings.. i have been amazed that i havnt been disfellowshiped as i confronted some elders and brothers in a forceful way and the conversations proved my thinking was correct.. i then simply left the meetings never to return.
whilst iam more cautiouse in my talking when i meet members of the congregation in the street i always make it clear i do not go to the meetings because i couldnt continue preaching a message i dont believe.. i have felt a responsibility to tell the hypocrites of the damage they are doing to their kids futures so they can continue in there hypocrasy-.

Attended a funeral for a JW
by Shepherd Book ina friend of mine ended his life two weeks ago.
hadn't actually talked to him in years, as we lived over an hour from each other and, since i'm an ex-jw, i assumed he wouldn't want to talk to me anyway.
his mom called to tell me the sad news and to give me the time and location of the visitation, which i thought was a very kind thing to do considering she knows my 'status'.. anyway, on the way out of the funeral home, i came face-to-face with an elder from my former hall.

JW on "Community"
by keyser soze inhas anyone watched this show?
on last night's episode, one of the characters was having a christmas party and everyone else in the group couldn't attend for religious reasons: one was jewish, one was muslim, one was buddhist(or so he claimed), one was atheist, and one, the black guy who was the high school football star said he was a jw.
it was the first mention of his character being a jw, and probably the last.
