  yep - outlaw's got it.......if of course it was an accident or something other than "natural causes" there's the grand opportunity to turn it into some kind of a "witness"....

  one thing though that occurs altogether too frequently is that close family members get criticized for mourning and not getting back to the grind fast enough - if they have the audacity to grieve instead of joyfully sharing good news with others so as to forget their personal sorrows.....

  i used to listen to all the stupid comments and wonder if i could sneak out of there and scram!

  even after i resigned as an elder, i went for a while and eventually began missing more and more meetings.

  but while i was there, i'd listen to comments, chuckle to myself how dumb it all was and then go home with the knowledge that my days were numbered there..

  The Circuit Overseer's Visit on MP3

  my dad came up to me the other day and handed me the mp3 of the recent visit to my old congregation.

  we both decided we would listen to it and discuss it together, despite the fact that neither of us have been to the meeting in over 18 months.. it was nice to hear all those old voices again but it was also a little bit sad.

  as regards the talks, they were pretty much the standard i expected them to be.

  not that it matters to these guys nowadays, but remember how russell had said that if they ever needed to ask for more than a nickel per mag they would take it that the Lord's backing was no longer with them....something to that effect? but, i guess since he has been deleted from the f&ds that wouldn't carry any weight......

  Anyone Gluten Intolerant?

  i recently found myself on a gluten free diet and have never felt better, finally my health problems are solved, pity all those prayers to jeehooha didnt help me when i needed it.. now i am finding myself occasionally accidently 'glutened' and remember how crap i felt before.

  just another wonderful discovery ive made since getting out of the borg.. how have you found being on a gluten free diet and being gluten intolerant?.

  i have a close friend with celiac - and neighbors who live on a gluten free diet due to auto-immune issues - plus their youngest son has Asperger's and a gluten free diet really helps with kids on the autism spectrum.

  every now and then i go on a gluten free diet - but it is difficult when pizza and pasta are your mainstays.

  and YES - i remember one elder who was so obese he had to use an electric chair. another brother (an ex-elder) made waves about it, and that it made him nauseous to see this guy up there as a spiritual icon.. complaint summarily dismissed..

  do we call our mother's by their legal name?

  if you do or do not does that make the other less a son or daughter of god?.

  i am a b!tch. once you reach adulthood, or a very seasoned teenage hood...there is no reason under the sun why you should not call your parents by their given first name. unfortunately too many parents have the idea that they deserve special consideration because they reproduced. it is simply ludicrous that they disallow their progeny to refer to them by their actual names.

  address your parents by their name and get over it. as for god - it depends on your belief system. to each his own.

  I have a lot of experience with this as a kid growing up....and as an adult i had one DO and his wife - and i loved them dearly and still do...although he's gone, don't know if she is alive or not. most experiences were fun - but as a kid, you had a sense of superiority like you were sacrificing your bed to celebrities. but i must say that the ones that did stay with us were very nice and decent. i know of many many that were demanding and ridiculous - but thankfully by that time there was an apt in the hall for them and it was just a matter of catering to their ridiculous meal requirements - they all developed allergies....must be an unhealthful lifestyle.

  someone mentioned the plumhoff's....they must be dead - when they lived at natick they were quite old....and that was when they first built that place which had to be in the early 70's......
