i really appreciate the historical information on the jw's this board allowed me to find out about.

it really put things into perspective.

But I do notice that those still in the org on this site are a great resource for us to keep up with what may be happening in the org. I like to know about stupid WTS changes, that way I can better reason with jws who come to my door.

My introduction/experience

i have only just recently found this site, in fact only recently gone online to do research of my own about jws.

before i left i had only gone on my gut instinct, not even realising i was not alone with my feelings.

the week i was appointed an elder some 11 years ago, i had had to write to a congregation many miles away from me about how unloving they were (more details below).. not long after i started to have concerns about jws, expecially as the message of 'following the bibles message' subtly changed to 'follow the fds', this did not sit well with me.

Vitamin E

it seems that often when a new study comes out, there are many who like to point their finger and say "see?

that proves ---" as if one single study always definitively establishes or disproves the efficacy of a given chemical agent, be it vitamin or drug.

some people also think that the fact it appears in a prestigious journal like jama necessarily indicates it is gospel truth.

I have just started to take a multi-vitamin/mineral. Hopefully it will do the same to me as the multi-vitamin did for you dmouse.

I hope that a multi-vitamin will provide a well rounded solution to my body needs.

They repeatedly speak of the resurrection. Where is the never dying at all and walking into the new order paradise? Where is the paradise being right around the corner? Does that mean that all will die and get everlasting life when they are resurrection? They are playing it cautious with this talk.

This article is sure a eye-opener. If one is an elder and married, then he is in a no-win situation. The WTS needs men reaching out to do all they can for the WTS, yet the elder has to have time for family and wife? When I was an elder, I remember telling a CO that I did not have time to take on additional responsibilities in the cong. I was on his "bad list" after that. The WTS can say that family and wife comes before cong, but in reality that is not the case.
