I Let Go Of Faith Ten years Ago Today
by cofty inafter more than 30 years as a jw and 9 as a born-again christian i finally let go of faith 10 years ago today.... it was on boxing day 2004 that news of the asian tsunami put the final nail in the coffin of my relationship with god.
since that time i have listened attentively to every possible argument in defense of faith; there has never been a single moment that i have felt any discomfort with my decision.. life without god has been liberating.
no longer do i have to defend the indefensible.

10 years ago I was serving as an elder becoming more and more disillusioned with my life as a JW. Interestingly there was a sister in our congregation who was on holiday when the tsunami struck, she survived but I think it was the last straw for her. Her husband and her converted in the late 90's he died in a motorcycle accident in 2002. The congregation never appeared to be particularly supportive after his death, just the usual platitudes. By the time I left in 2009 she had faded and was eventually DF'd for smoking. -

Encinitas Congregation Encinitas CA.
by exwhyzee inanyone from that hall?.
we attended a memorial for a long time friend there this past weekend.
it was my first time in a kingdom hall since memorial 2008. as per usual, the people were lovely but the message had gaps and left me feeling somewhat blank and cold.

What is truth?
by Heisenberg inwell, i have been lurking on this site for several months and i recently decided to join as a member.
i have made several observations and would like to make a few comments.. first, i am perplexed by the attitude of many on this site that are either former or active (but apostate) jws.
they seem to have a strong hatred for the wts and also for rank and file jws.

New forum 'parousia' is upon us! (software version)
by Simon inthe time has nearly come to switch over to the new forum software.
of course it's not completely finished yet (and never will be) but i think it's good enough to go live with and probably already better than the current one.
i'll give you a quick overview of what to expect and post more detail about the changeover process later.. cloud platform.

Pope Benedict was an embarrassment, the RCC needed to negate the damage he caused during his very short tenure.

Crytojesus - your belief in Jesus is based on a delusion that has been implanted by your culture and your own cognitive bias. It is the same with the Witnesses. How do you think you can deprogram members of a cult when you are deluded yourself? The best you can do is make them leave one BS religion to join another.

U.K Human Rights Blog: Jehovahs Witnesses, and judicial review being a last resort
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://ukhumanrightsblog.com/2014/12/17/jehovahs-witnesses-and-judicial-review-being-a-last-resort/.

judicial review is an excellent and flexible remedy, filling the gaps when statutory and other appeals do not provide a remedy for unlawful administrative acts or omissions.
