  A question for the Trolley & Cosmopolitan Witnesses

  ask them why not one scripture states that christians were instructed to be "witnesses of jehovah".. when they get flustered and tongue-tied because they cannot cite a single verse from matthew to revelation to back up their scripturally false "designer label", inform them that there are at least 30 scriptures which clearly show show that christians are to be witnesses for christ, not god!.

  (isaiah 62:2) and you will be called by a new name, which jehovahs own mouth will designate.. (acts 11:26) ..........in antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called christians.. .

  (matthew 10:18) ....before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.. (mark 13:9) .......be put on the stand before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them.. (acts 1:8) ...........you will be witnesses of me in jerusalem, in all judea and samaria...... (john 1:15) john bore witness about him,.

  What Happened to the Religion I Left in 1995?

  josh here, new to the board.

  glad to know this site is here.. i would not be writing this if it were not 2014. i was a ministerial servant and regular pioneer who left the jehovahs witnesses back in 1995/96, around that time.

  i left suddenly, didnt fade away, just left when something clicked one day in my head during the morning shower and made me realize this religion wasnt true.

  this is my first time posting here, although i have been a visitor to it for around a year.

  after doing a simple google search under "jehovah'switnesses" over a year ago, i found ttat.

  i was deeply unhappy with the congregation and decided to educate myself, and boy what an education i have gotten so far.

  Your views and ideas on forum areas and organization?

  this may come as a shock to some people, but the current forum structure was kind of thrown together without much real thought and then evolved a bit over time.

  there are a few things that particularly grate on me and areas where i don't think the subjects work particularly well.

  'friends' is a bit vague and becomes a dumping ground, news & world events vs politics & current affairs is hard to decide sometimes, child abuse is a scandal but isn't contained withing 'scandals & coverups' etc.... with a new forum platform imminent, it's a good time to solicit ideas to improve things.

  Would you go to church?

  i have an unspoken rule that if someone ever invites me to a church - that i haven't been to before - i will go.

  even though i'm an atheist i'm still interested in the experiance.

  just like i'm not into basketball but i would like to go to a game sometime to feel the energy of the crowd.. growing up as a jw i've never set foot in another church.
