i finally saw that november 15th wt article on prayer that everyone has been talking about - the people in the photos look as stiff as corpses!.

people will be called in the back room for inadvertantly making contact with their spouse during prayer.. i think i will adopt the following stance during prayer now:.

I think the WTBTS's rules on how to pray and how to stand and who you can touch during and how are total BULLSHIT!

During my great uncle's funeral a few years ago (Anglican church), I sat in between my father and grandfather (was his brother we lost), I huged them both through the whole thing... to embrace someone and show love and support by holding their hand or giving them a warm hug emplys NOTHING SEXUAL AT ALL! Do those dirty old bastards (the GB) really think of nothing else?????

I wont stand for anyone telling me when I can or can not hug someone- next the WTBTS will be telling parents not to hug their children in public as well!

I like what you said (great thread), and thankyou for pointing out that Jesus "wanted his disciples/followers to teach others the gospel message". This is where most religions clash- what is the message??? to simply love god and love your neighbour... thats it! short and sweet... before I go too much further I should mention to to you that I am a deist of sorts, and I see this one 'message' from the bible as the only one worth keeping :)

I remember sitting through what felt like a 3 hour lecture 'talk' about Solomon's Temple and the kingdom of God....... we were shown pictures and diagrams of what it may have looked like blah blah blah.... but the real kingdom is not like that at all.... if were all too follow the one simple message of 'love thy nieghbour as ourselves' (even if we didn't believe in god) then Jesus was right to say that hunger and needless death and war would be no more.... but he was not the only person to say such things, nor will he be the last....

Religion truely is a snare and a racket... and to the making of many books there is no end...

putting this out there.....going back 12months ago i was completely different to how i am now.

i am still loyal to jah and dont go against the scriptures, but even though ive recently returned to pioneering (only aux pio at present) i see im a little more laid back.. i think this has come through having to endure hell and back without any help, except jehovah, which im not complaining, im so glad his been there for me, for us both.

but i really believe that due to things that have badly and wrongly been allowed to take place etc its moulded me a little different to how i was.

Law of Attraction

just wondering if it is okay to practice the law of attraction as per the book "the secret".

if you are committed to jehovah, would the law of attraction simply be something to improve your life but at the same time staying grounded with god.. is this to be avoided by brothers and sisters or is it okay if you do practice it knowing that jehovah did create the laws of the universe.

i can't find anything in any past watchtower or awake articles.

I probably should add that the real secret to "the truth" is.... they dont have it! but if they told you that, you'd stop buying it!

The real secret is you paid money for a book that attracts people who think they need help or DIY guidence in 'getting the most out of life'- truth is you are just making someone else rich by buying it in the first place! it's kinda like peddling the Tower and Awake mags for the WTBTS- only your their main customer and free advertising

We usually have an Aussie BBQ with cold ham and lots of salads... I make the potato bake!.... xmas morning I make pancakes befor we open our prezzies... It's summer time down under at xmas time so all the "traditional snow white christmas stuff" doesnt apply here... intead of making 'snow men' our family usually plays some back yard cricket or we go swimming...

If your going to do the whole "roast dinner thing" then I'd say go with a nice big pork roast with apple sauce, some hassle back potatoes with butter, beans and a few honey carrots... if you like to serve soups before dinner then i'd start with sweet pumpkin soup and and an aussie damper (google for damper recipe)..... Yummmmmy! Oohh... warm fruit cake or apple pie with ice cream and brandy flavoured custard for dessert!

This was the book they were studing here when I went to my first book study (before they changed the arrangements). They had 5 to 10 year old children reading this book- I came in during the whole 'wine press and blood thingy..' yuk ! so I told the lady I was studying it with that I'll wait till the new book starts before comming to the thursday night book study on a reg basis.... shoulda stopped then hey?

Sorry guys... forget for moment that the book is full of WTB CRAP!- I just cant handle most of the pictures in it!

Anyone remember the page number or have a pic of that freaky daemon hand? I burned my copy last winter!
