  so i just caught a glimpse of this new wt magazine(study edition) of course.. from dec 28th titled.

  "what do your prayers say about you".

  so now they are focosing on every aspect of our lifes even our actions during prayer.

  no, not the comedy.

  i see alot of parents at the kingdom halls - and more than one that i have been to - that pass their children off to other people in the kh all the time.

  are the children supposed to be with the parents and not with other people?

  no, not the comedy. i see alot of parents at the kingdom halls - and more than one that i have been to - that pass their children off to other people in the kh all the time. are the children supposed to be with the parents and not with other people? is that the instruction that is always given? i even see elders doing this. there was an elder meeting once just to talk about this problem and yet no more than two meetings later, some of the elders were allowing it to happen again, with their own kids. not that there is a point to this post, i was just irritated by someone asking my wife to watch their kid because they really felt a talk was going to be for them.

  today was an odd day for me.

  i was on my way to work and stopped for a quick cup of coffee and went into the local coffee chain establishment.

  to my surprise, there was two couples from the kh talking at one of the tables.

  today was an odd day for me. i was on my way to work and stopped for a quick cup of coffee and went into the local coffee chain establishment. to my surprise, there was two couples from the kh talking at one of the tables. i said a quick hello, moved over to get in line and order. i could overhear the couples talk about a young sister who married outside of the org. they were saying that the husband is inclined toward jehovah and the meetings but she pushes him away. they were talking about her lack of obeying the headship rule. this coming from two of the biggest breakers of the headship rule. best of all, i know this young girls husband, he works for a relative of my wife's. i know for a fact the reason he does not go to the kh is because he thinks most of the people are gossip hounds and very unfriendly once you get to know them. he is right. so i was leaving and i told them to have a good day and then stopped and was about to tell them why he doesnt come. i didnt. i should have. i also hate the headship rule anyway. funny how blinded people can be to why others have problems with the org.

  just asked a loyal dub i know why has the org now given out a song book, with so many songs taken out?

  she looked at her convention notes and replied that the soceity said that some of the songs in the old song book were too difficult for new people to learn to sing.. and this was said with all seriousness... she totaly brought it!.

  with great knowledge i can tell you that it happened for two reasons. some songs were not in accord with current teaching. also, there were many songs that were not used, not for their difficulty of singing, just not used so they were to scale down and also add back a few new that would be used.

  i remember one of my first times out in fs years ago. i had an elderly brother who was a big believer that everyone should hear the good news of the kingdom no matter who they were. so we were working an area that was mostly businesses. we hit this bar, and it was a saturday at lunch time. he says we need to go in. i have no desire to go in and tell him that maybe we should move on. he says he will be brief. we go in, and it is not very busy. only a handful of people there. he asks for the owner, the guy behind the bar stated that he was the owner. the elderly brother offers the magazines and starts his lecture about whatever his presentation was. man takes the magazines and thanks him. we leave. outside the elderly brother says that it was a good call and that for being a bar, it wasnt too bad. he said that he could not understand why a bunch of men would hang around in a bar all day without having any women to talk to and laughs. i did not have the nerve to tell him that very few if any women frequent that type of bar that it was known for being. i would have thought the pink triangle sticker in the window on the door was a sign.

  Prejudice in the Kingdom Hall.

  have you ever noticed how in the kingdom halls who have a mix of races, you find the whites sit in one area of the kingdom hall, and the blacks have their own section?

  the district conventions and circuit assemblys too.

  i've noticed one particular section where there were just black people who made up about 20% of the dc and the rest were white.

  i will say that there is an even mix where i am currently assigned. i am amazed that some of the white brothers find it ok to tell ethnic jokes to some of the black brothers and everyone laughs. prejudice is prejudice no matter who laughs.

  i can say anything in email form

  i am traveling on business for my job and decided to stay a few extra days with some clients to resolve some issues instead of coming home for the weekend.

  it works well for me since i will be able to skip a dinner that i was supposed to attend with some jws.

  i was going to come home today but decided against it.

  i am traveling on business for my job and decided to stay a few extra days with some clients to resolve some issues instead of coming home for the weekend. it works well for me since i will be able to skip a dinner that i was supposed to attend with some jws. i was going to come home today but decided against it. as i was finishing my arrangements at the hotel to stay longer, i received an email on my phone. it was one of my wife's relatives. email said that it had been awhile since they seen the wife and me at the meeting. wanted to know how we were. wanted to see if everything was ok. asked me to call when i got back tonight. i replied back with this - staying a few extra days. all is well at home. what do you need?

  i should have stopped at the all is well at home comment.

  a reply came back a little later. the relative says - worried about you. hope you know we all care about the both of you. you seem to have drawn away from the meetings and from family and from jehovah. we really need to talk. they then proceed to quote scriptures and experiences and point out things that have bothered them about my lack of attendance and caring.

  i have yet to respond back. with all the technology in the world, has anyone else found that people will say more using email than they would to you in person?
