I'm very sorry Darth. Be there for your Dad. We may all sooner or later find ourselves in that same situation, and no matter how tough we may be, Alzheimer's may be the toughest thing to deal with in our lives. It takes away one's personality and dignity. Be there for your Dad and remember who he was when he was free of this awful thing he's going through now. Deep down there are memories and these are precious, Alzheimers steals these vital memories of one's personality. It's just an awful thing to go through, my thoughts and feelings go out to you and your family. Just be there for your Dad, and those who love you and love him too, no matter what.

tract campaigns
by seenitall inwhy the tract & invitation campaigns?
it is the only way to get the regular pubs out into the field.
there is now a general letdown of activity to go out, followup and keep going.

It's also a way to make territory cards look as if they've been covered with the preaching work.
Just walk up to a house, put a tract on the door and don't have to come back, got to keep going and do all the 'doors'.
It's always about doing 'doors' and not talking to your neighbors about the Good News of Jesus Christ and his resurrection to the right hand of God.
It's always a "different good news" and "a different gospel": An invisible presence that motivates people to be sub-servient to a group of self apointed men in a Governing Body that claims to be God's only channel on Earth.
Tract campaigns, if you're a blind follower of the WTS you gotta love 'em.

Which do you prefer?
by keyser soze inwhen it comes to weather, would you rather have a wind chill below zero, or a heat index over 100?
it's the hottest week of the summer here.
i have to confess, i handle the cold much better than the heat.

I handle the cold much better than the heat. Too much heat just drains all my energy
I'm totally the opposite, I love the 100+ heat days and dread the cold days, anything below 50 degrees F. is way too cold!

Do you believe the "Conscious Class" will be saved? (CHRISTIANS ONLY)
by brotherdan inthere are thousands of people sill trapped in the organization that realize that it cannot be what it claims to be: god's only true organization.
but do you think that these ones that still believe in christ and his crucifixtion will still be saved?
after all, salvation does not come from an organization.

I PM'ed with someone I knew from a neighboring congregation at home.
He recognized me from my avatar photo, although we hadn't seen each other since he got DF'ed back in the mid 1990's (is that right? I'm not sure when you left...)
Back then I was a happy/unhappy kid as the moods swung, and was quite oblivious to everything around me that didn't perk my interest.
I'm more "conscious" now, but I can't help the feeling that there are more people, maybe lurking, that I know personally and haven't made a connection with yet.
I should say that I've met a few on Facebook who'd DA'd or gotten DF'ed or faded over the years and we connected again. There's a lot of JW's and ex-JW's that seem make connections on Facebook despite the WT's admonitions to not frequent such sites.
If you recognize me contact me here or on FB.

I dunno, but I see a family resemblance in the reptile's photo above and the 'Presidential' Bush family.
