the washington post published this richard dawkins response to perry's evolution is "just a theory" comment.

Yes.. meddling in politics should be left for religion alone. Nobody with a non-Christian world view should be allowed to express a political opinion.

the jws take pride in their honesty, for many years, this has been a strong marketing strategy for the purity of their religious dogma.

you may be familiar with many stories of their members retruning found wallet and so on, but here is an example found from the 2010 watchtower, march 15. .

"emilio, an italian witness who works as a driver for a public transport company, found a wallet containing 470 euros ($680, u.s.).

Depressing

isn't it depressing to believe that this is all there is to life?, an elder told me today that philosophers, apostates, free thinkers and many other enemies of the truth alike do not offer any hope for the future.

but this is the only organisation offering the hope.. what do you think?, the thought of living for just 70 or 80 yrs and not returning back is very depressing or do some other line of reasonings offer any hope?.

i am just curious..

Heh... stop making the Jehvoah's Witness error of thinking people need preachers and sermons on a discussion board. Here's a novel concept: "Here is what I think. What are your thoughts?" Say a little bit, and then invite discussion! Thought - real, free thought - doesn't start with reading, it starts with responding.

How best do we get the mind thinking - with long rants or with questions?

Migraines?

so, i get a migraine a few times a year.

i usually take some advil and i'm fine.. but, this past month, i've had about 4 migraines.

one is coming on right now, and i'm about to take an advil.

I had bad migraines 3-4 times a week for 11 years - through my late-teens and early twenties. Imitrex was my miracle drug - one pill would make me a bit short of breath for an hour, and then I would feel freaking amazing for hours. But the warning label scared me enough not to take it except on speical occations when I needed to be 'there'.

At around the age of 26 I quit wearing contact lenses, and about 2 months later - the migranes faded away. Now, I never have them.

I hope you find your cure as well.
