Wow...this IS one smokin' thread! Over 11,600 views and 12 pages as of my posting. Any change in the GB affects many JWs as well as ex-JWs. It will be very interesting to observe what transpires because of this event.

i have.. i was out of town doing three days of hard physical labor at 7000 feet, in the blazing sun.
five pounds lost may not seem much, but i sure can't seem to lose it by diet alone.

Yes. I lost 5 lbs overnight after a particularly nasty fight with my fiance. I knew I couldn't marry him after that. And I didn't. Bad stress tends to make me shed pounds suddenly.

I felt important before, now I feel just regular
by BonaFide inwhen i first got assigned to the circuit work, the branch sent me far away to a rural circuit, they usually do that with the new c.o.'s.
i had 17 congregations, some of them were only 12 publishers.
no sound system, no stage, meetings in a persons home with no ac.

I don't think I've ever really felt 'important'. At least, not from some organization. Three years after getting hired at the company I work for (which was 22 years ago), I was told by my manager ...
"There's 10 people lined up for your job!"
Wow... thanks for the motivational speech there boss. (You jerk!) After that, I defined my own 'importance' within me and am happy with what I've accomplished so far. I am looking forward to doing many more things in life and I don't give a crap how many people are lined up!
Funny though... my current boss is in a bind and really needs my skill set as there are not many around now that have the skills I possess. Interesting, isn't it?
BonaFide... Look to yourself for the importance... the satisfaction. I think you may be surprised. sass_my_frass has a great idea... become a teacher. So many people find this enormously rewarding. Also... no one ever says "Oh Crap! Not the firemen again!" Think of professions that fit with who you are that can be rewarding. Mentoring is also another option. I find helping others, even if informal, is hands above more rewarding than getting a pat on the back from someone who may not be that sincere (like my employer). Scott77 may be onto something there... maybe you should be a writer. I think by just being here on this Forum you are helping people that you may not even realize you are helping. I know that I am at least one person here who greatly appreciates your input. Please keep doing it!

by Sweet Honey ini was 15 years old i'm forty now ,but my whole family were jw i got pregnant my mom made me keep my son which i am thankful for i had to have that stupid meeting with the elders and i was not even baptized this was in the mid 80's they ask you so many ?
its like their getting off i refused to answer their ?
so i was dissociated from the congregation i went to meetings until i gave birth to my son then i refused to go my mom told me she would help me no matter what then the elders and my brothers one still is a jw we really don't speak we are like strangers told her that she could not condone me not going to the meetings to make matters worse she moved out from the home we were living in and left me and my son there and they took me to court and evicted me from her home i had no where to go with my son i found a place after all that and didn't speak to my mom for 6 years .

I'm glad you told those elders to go to hell. I think a lot of these clowns think they have a 'get outta jail free pass' or something. It's like they don't remember, they, too, are sinners. They have no idea what Jesus' teachings are all about. I know as I have had to tell my MS father that some of his advice for me is in direct contrast to Jesus' teachings (and he knows it!).
As I have said before, when I was little, my Mum told me one of Satan's primary goals is to break up families. The WTS breaks up families ... so I can only conclude that Satan is running this organization.

Most corporations today are using an efficiency model/system similar to Six Sigma called 'LEAN'. Sounds like the Watchtower is adopting this model. It's all about maximizing efficiency and minimizing cost. The largest cost any company has is its human resource.
The unfortunate part about LEAN is they are missing one vital piece of their foundation. Efficiency can be toxic. Case in point is the R2000 home. It's highly efficient in minimizing/eliminating heat loss -- and completely toxic to humans. I like this analogy. I think LEAN may morph into something toxic to humans. Perhaps it already has.
Bethelite Elder... the only suggestion I have for you is to prepare yourself. No one is safe in any organization using the LEAN model.

My Parents unable to justify the current Blood Policy
by RubaDub ini was visiting my parents several months ago and the wt blood policy came up (someone in a nearby congregation was affected).
he is an elder and my mother has been a jw since a child.. anyway, i just commented that i expect changes soon in the blood policy.
they asked why.

I figure as long as the WTS and JWs focus on Armaggedon coming 'soon' or 'very shortly', it will never come. There is no way God is going to allow anyone on the face of this earth the ability or ammunition to be able to say "See, we told you so!"
