  Had you thought of feeling sorry for the G.B?

  i only bring this to the board, because a friend of mine once said he felt sorry for the footballers who made so much money.

  that comment stayed with me, and over the years,the more i thought about that comment the more i agreed with him.. i admit the g.b destroy people's life's and are the sublimation of all that's good in people's life.

  there only excuse is a fantazy asylum they claim to believe in.

  These guys know God ain't talkin' to them. TOMO III's demeanor on the latest video is quite deflated/dejected. This is not a guy who looks like the Almighty is favouring him.

  to use a metaphor; any tower built on insufficient foundations will sooner or later fall..

  the origin of the watchtower organisation was in the announcement of ct russells pet theory, formed from adventism that christ had arrived in the heavens in 1874. within a biblical forty years i.e.1914, gods enemies he said, would be destroyed and peace would pervade the earth.

  he was completely wrong.. the watchtower magazine however by this time had a large readership and trundled on after it was commandeered by rutherford who nourished its doomsday scam.

  I think many on here have already stated they have to go more like mainstream 'Christendom'. Drop the judgmental, self-righteous, "we're the Chosen" attitudes and actually start helping people instead of harming them.

  do you remember the wt lawyer trying to get justice mcclelland to accept a new and improved report from the wt "expert", monica applewhite?.

  the wt lawyer even managed to squeeze more time from the commission for applewhite to prepare her report.

  funny thing is, applewhite never submitted that report.. i guess she has been too busy with catholic business...no time for the wt dudes.

  OC, yes I do remember she was tasked with more work from McClellan. I doubt the ARC will let her off.

  Jackson is also supposed to present scriptures that say women can't be judges I believe. Not sure if that happened either.
  

  If we don't have these answers perhaps someone could email the ARC and ask.

  I experienced this firsthand in my family when my Mom fell in March of 2002 and couldn't get up. I get a phone call from Dad 12 hours later ...

  Dad: "Heaven, I think there is something wrong with your Mother."

  Heaven: "Oh? What do you mean?"

  Dad: "Well, she fell this morning and couldn't get up. I've been carrying her to the washroom ever since every time she has to go and she yelps. She is really lethargic too."

  Heaven: "Dad, she sounds like she's in shock. If she fell and can't get up something's broken. You need to call 9-1-1."

  Dad: "Oh ... I don't know."

  Heaven: "What do you mean? Something is really wrong here. You need to get her to the hospital."

  Dad: "It's pretty muddy here. I don't think they could get in."

  Heaven: "Dad, that's their problem to deal with. It's their job. They are young and will manage."

  Dad: "I don't know."

  Heaven: "Dad, do you want me to call them?"

  Dad: "Well, no."

  Heaven: "Ok. Let me hang up so you can call them. Once you've done that, call me back, ok?"

  I'm a coward.

  since the move, it has been so enjoyable to not have jw's breathing down our necks asking why we didn't make the meeting, or having to pretend to be "spiritual" in front of family all the time.. 90% of my week is virtually stress free.

  then, my mom calls or texts wanting to talk to her grandkids.

  every dang call, she asks about the new congregation, if we went to the meeting, etc.. why can't i tell her to fk off?

  I never really directly attacked my parent's religion because I knew that was counter productive. But I did point out any fallacies I saw whether Biblical or religious. I like Splash's advice about asking her to explain the Generation doctrine. Or just flat out tell her that you aren't interested in aligning with a God who creates evil (Isaiah 45:7) or wants to break up families (Matthew 10:35).

  All these changes in the last five years are mindblowing

  i can't begin to count all the changes that have happened in the last five years.. i just read they're getting rid of the theocratic ministry school from cedar's blog.. i remember when they released the new theo school book back in 2001. how times have changed.. it's almost scary in a way what's happening.

  there's barely any time to adapt to one change before another change comes along.. there's been more changes in the last five years than the previous 100 years.. i feel like there's some grand puppet master pulling his string.. what if the governing body are not really in charge but just give the impression they're in charge.

  could there be someone else behind the scenes?.

  In 2010 my Dad, who had been a Ministerial Servant for around 25 years, said to me:

  "Heaven, I don't know what they are talking about anymore."

  I wonder what my maternal grandfather would think about all these changes. He's the one who introduced this crap to our family back in the 1950s (before I was born).

  My Mom Is Dying

  i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.

  she is on morphine and hanging on.

  she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.

  yep, everyone who has ever lived has died.... and witnesses teach that every nonwitness deserves to be killed at armageddon ..... how many are born each day?

  yet, how many become witnesses each day?.

  so the longer it takes for armageddon come, the more people will die?

  Back in the 1970s, I was a teenager and being told that the JW's 'preach to all the inhabited Earth'. Uh, yeah, right. My bull shite meter went off (of course). So I did some simple math and it showed this is impossible.

  There are far too many people on the Earth and far too few Witnesses to accomplish this task. This is still the case today.

  And with the discovery of remote tribes in various areas of the world, for example the Amazon rainforest, it is obvious these people are still living the way they have for thousands of years. Aerial photographs clearly show they aren't Christian, let alone Jehovah's Witnesses. For one thing, these people are naked. GASP!

  How would JWs preach to these people? They have no idea what language they speak. It would take years to be able to learn this and then print publications for them. Seriously, these people do NOT have the internet let alone devices and power to connect to the web. Is Botchtower prepared to set these people up with all of this? I highly doubt it.

  safe to say, if you walked up to any of the 8 million jehovah's witnesses on earth today and told them the.

  governing body was a fiction, not only would they refuse to believe you--they'd consider you their immediate enemy!.

  I just wanted to say that I find ALL religious people embrace mental constructs at odds with history. Faith requires, demands even, that you let go of rational, logical, critical thinking skills. When facts contradict faith, the faithful side with faith. Because if they don't, the life they've built on this tenuous house of cards comes crashing down. We know because we've all been through it. The faithful make a choice NOT to deal with factual truth and reality but to just accept and obey. The faithful also seem to need to have someone else interpret scripture for them.

  Terry, I think my Father had his doubts as he grew older. He wasn't 'in' back in the 1950s, only becoming 'dedicated' around 1986. He's experienced a lot and there have been a lot of changes even since then.

  After the death of a really close friend of his back around 2004-2005, my Dad started calling me a lot more. We've had a lot of discussions since then. I should attempt to document them one day. In 2009, my Dad told me he thought he had dementia. He was correct. In 2010, he realized he was going to die (which also means I think he realized he would die without Armageddon arriving. He was convinced it would come sometime in 2009-2010 and it did not). My Dad is still alive, he is now in a nursing home, and no longer remembers his religion.
