  Christians do not preach sermons like this, cults do. Christianity is unique in that eternal life is acheived it by faith not works "lest any man should boast".

  Perry, you yourself have stated these typical sinner, guilt-inducing statements right here on this forum. I can dig them up for you if your memory is failing.

  Did Jesus of Nazareth exist? It is quite possible. Did he intend to start a religion called Christianity? No, very unlikely.

  I always like to emphasize the point with any Christian I'm having a religious discussion with that their 'god' was actually Jewish. He was an apocalyptic rabbi who thought his Heavenly Father was going to fix all the world's problems in his life time. He wrote nothing down. There is no evidence in the archeological record that speaks about him. They have yet to find pottery, stone or clay shard, or papyrus that is authentic that mentions him. So this all important, Son of God, the supposedly most important human being of all time, was not written about until after he died? It seems odd to me that if his intention was to start a new religion, that if he was this ultimate, uber important, 'perfect' man, that he would have penned, er, I mean, chiselled or quilled, something or there would have been a lot more written about him than what exists today.
  

  Christianity was invented after Jesus died. The ancient religionists borrowed a lot from previous belief systems, they separated evil from God by creating Satan and original sin, which led to the need for a saviour and the church. Why is this? Seems to me it's about power and controlling the masses. Follow the money. It's also about arrogance... most religion seems to have this ideal that 'my god is better than your god'. In ancient times, I think it was about these things but also an attempt at bringing some sort of standardization and stability to the warring tribes of the Middle East. Seems we're still waiting for that to occur, just like Christians are still waiting for Jesus to return.
  

  When I listen to Christian sermons, I wait for it... you know, that moment in the talk where they lay all the blame and guilt on your shoulders and tell you it's all your fault, you're a sinner, you aren't good enough so you need to pray more, confess more, work more as Christ's disciple, and definitely, donate more. It's an interesting exercise... I've yet to see it fail. It happens anywhere from about 1/3 to 1/2 way through the sermon. Check it out next time you listen to something like this... if you can stomach it that is.

  hello all, i would like to first say that i am basically questioning my faith in god.

  i am not negative towards the wt at all.

  so honestly i am to concerned with more ad hominem attacks towards the wt because i still love the organization and the people in it.

  first let me tell you about george (his real name) the special pioneer.

  not that good looking...a bit goofy, he had spiritual sisters literally ask him to date and flutter eyelids because of his positon.

  he always made excuses about why sisters were "not his type"...had a bedroom full of pics of him hugging other brothers with a content strange look on his face....like this is my girlfriend look!

  Parrots Turn Carnivores.....Media Article ..Sure to get J.W.`s all excited .

  the first part was a heading in the herald sun newspaper tues.sep.15 ,2015 melbourne victoria .. , lorikeets and other parrots are becoming meat eaters---and researchers want to know why.. griffith university professor darryl jones has heard the herbivorous bird was eating mince left out by bird feeders in brisbane (australia ) "in two weeks i had about 500 emails from across the country all saying lorikeets were eating meat" he said.. that will surely get the faithful thinking the big "a" is almost upon us.. in the 1960`s i was told that buzzards and other carnivorous birds were laying twice as many eggs than was normal proving the big "a' was almost here.. here we go again.

  Most birds are omnivores, eating both vegetation and meat of some kind.

  Edited to add: Birds will eat what is available so I suspect this is occurring because more meat and less vegetation is presently in their environment.

  In Canada, our wild birds tend to be more carnivorous during the spring, summer, and fall when insects are plentiful. The ones that don't go south become more vegetarian during the winter as that is what is most plentiful. For birds of prey, they will usually feast on whatever is available as well, but tend to stick predominantly to a meat diet such as mice, small animals, birds, etc.

  genesis 30:37 leaving aside the whole "joseph cheats laham out of his flock" issue.

  one passage of scripture that i've missed until now is 30:37 where it says how joseph got all the sheep to be stripey etc ( btw have you ever seen a stripey sheep?

  cos i certainly haven't!).

  How to evade questions from elders when you stop going out door to door

  due to circumstances right now i cannot leave permanently the watchtower, however i need honest advice of what to say when elders question me how come im not meeting the group out for door to door & going out in " field service"... what would be proper responses not to draw suspicions since i'm aware of ttatt.. .any serious advice please...

  I posted an article about James to my Facebook page a little while ago. He's an amazing man. I believe he is too old now to donate any longer. It is on my to-do list to check into donating blood.
  

  I was a teenage girl back in the '70s and '80s and my parents informed me that having a blood transfusion was forbidden. I was very afraid if I needed a blood transfusion that my parents would deny it. What a thing for a child to be afraid of.
