Coppernicus and Galileo proved this to be untrue. But religion cannot be wrong, you see, as they have God directing them. But when they are proven wrong, they make some shit excuse up like 'God was testing us' or crap like that.
Thanks to Nasa's Kepler mission, we now know there are other Earth-like planets in the cosmos (such as Kepler 186f: kepler-186f-the-first-earth-size-planet-in-the-habitable-zone ). So much for our planet being unique. It is a real possibility these Kepler planets are inhabited.
