so, hubby gets contacted today by one of the elders saying 2 of them want to pay us a visit and asks him when we are available.

we both had the heart drop feeling for a few minutes lol.

but he promptly, and politely, informed them that we are very busy but he will let them know when we are free.

I would ask them specifically why they want to meet with you. Do not let them obfuscate this. And I agree with Smiddy. If you ever do meet with them ensure it is recorded and your lawyer is present.

Skulls and bones are part of rituals and logos of various groups that Botchtower and JWs find offensive, immoral or otherwise not of God and ones they profess to detest. This includes groups such as pagans, witches, pirates, bikers, military, metal, rock, or alternative music bands, etc. The skull and crossbones is the symbol for poison and death.

Local Congregation Takes Away My Dad's Phone Hook-Up (HE'S 85 YRS. OLD)

this happened about 6 months ago, didn't really have an opportunity to post about it (been busy), but they still haven't given back his password for the phone hook-up.

they say that this is direction from the "branch office".

i think it's complete bs, the real reason why they are doing this is to punish me & my family because i am basically a ghost when it comes to meetings & any type of activity.

ToesUp is spot on. Stop donating and start anti-witnessing. I think these 2 can be very effective weapons against the Borg.

Since I assumed POA responsibilities for my Dad, the Borg has received the sum total of zero dollars from him. The cash flow came to a screeching halt when I took over. He had been giving them thousands of dollars.

Nice Old Dears Tried to "Witness" to me Today

an older man and wife - ray and mary - got chatting to me today.

they were tourists admiring local wildlife.

i gave them a few tips on where to go to see some interesting things and it wasn't long before they were telling me about how awful the world is "nowadays" and paradise yadda yadda.

Cofty, well done. Sounds like you planted some seeds, particularly about the ARC and the pedophilia issue. It is very interesting that they continued chatting with you after you told them you were no longer a Witness. I guess they didn't have any literature on them that they wanted to share with you.

Has the Great Witness Trolley/Cart campaign produced ANY results?

i live between two cities that are big enough to have their own metropolitan trolley cart arrangements organised at circuit level.

the 3 congregations at the hall i attend have trolley schedule noticeboards.

i see trolleys in the high streets and markets locally.

I have yet to see these carts in real life. Maybe they need to stand outside:

a) A major grocery store

b) Nursing homes

c) Shopping Malls

d) Gas stations

e) Restaurants (preferrably sushi)

f) A major hardware store

g) Wal-Mart

h) Tim Horton's

My 67 Year Old Elder Brother Is Depressed Because The Younger Elders Are Taking Over

he was the school overseer but they relieved him of that to allow younger elders the privilege of the job.

now he is depressed and actually shed tears, believing his worth has diminished.

My Dad wanted to go to Beth-Hell but they denied him that 'privilege' because he was too old. I could tell this discouraged him. The Borg is not a supportive organization for anyone but themselves.
