What if an entity called man invented god?
That is the big question.
It is actually the answer.
was it necessary for god to kill all innocent firstborn children?
no other way out for the almighty god?.

samuel herd saying things i never thought possible from a gb member.. does anyone know the background?
who was this talk directed to?
This stuff makes me want to vomit.
please share your experiences..
My father stopped giving me the magazines.
jws teach that god is love and jws are taught that they must go out and proclaim the good news of the kingdom to all the nation's then the end would come.
of course jws are also taught that they are the only ones that will survive the big a and if others don't join they will die.
well here's the delusion or one of many in all this, as we can see from other threads and the internet, every religion indoctrinates their members so they believe what their taught just as strongly as a jw.
If he can do manna once, he can do it repeatedly. No human father in his right mind would see his children suffer if it was within his power to do something about it.
.
after all the jokes and satire on this website about jw's only being able to amount to window washers and house cleaners, the cover page of "how to enjoy your work" showing a window washer and cleaner in the back ground.
i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.
"How to enjoy your work?"
My advice: Do something you love. For you will be doing it for a very long time.
johannes greber's book "communication with the spirit word of god -- it's laws and purpose" states that, in order to seek god's truth one must cummunicate with the spirit world on a regular basis.
according to the governing body, they get their teachings from those who have died and been resurrected to heaven (the watchtower, jan. 1, 2007, p.28, para.11).
also, it was published that the gb meets on a regular basis, every wednesday (the watchtower, may 15, 2008, p.29).

This sounds strangely like spiritism, occultism to me.
i have been struggling the last year to find my belief.
what the witnesses have to me is not the answer the more and more i dig.
on the other hand, i cant seem to accept evolution no matter how hard i try, the existence of everything from nothing doesnt not work with my type of thinking.
God is a concept, a product of the human imagination in an attempt to define the undefinable in an age where knowledge of the natural world was lacking, resulting in the use of superstition and myth to explain things.
doing some research as to what qualifications someone needs to meet to become an elder, i came up with one conclusion: it's who you know and is very subjective.. funny thing is too, if you searc the wt online library there are not recent articles that describe and outline the requirements.
which makes me think that there were too many requirements and as we all know, it is based now on how close you are with the current co and not necessarily on being a model jw in the congo.
so the borg decided to leave it up all to the co and not tell the rest what to look for on these appointed men.. you could do your hours, be early to the meetings, be prepared, keep your car and house clean, family in good reputation, etc but if you are in the circle then you can forget it.
Another qualification... you must be of the male gender.

well dubs may corner the market on messing with children's heads, but there are other contenders.. .
rebel8, good one! You are aptly named.
If any group tries to use guilt or fear inducing tactics, it is wise to walk away from it.
you are probably wondering if i've lost my mind with a question like this~!.
there is a method to my madness, however.. ________________________.
here is where this query originated; follow closely and comment.
If the idea of Jesus as messiah was so appealing to the majority jews as you say why did and do most of them reject him?
runForever, this is an excellent question and one that I have thought a lot about in my journey out of 'faith'. My conclusion is that most Jews thought he was a nutball. Just like today, if someone tells us they are Jesus and the Messiah, we dismiss them as delusional whack jobs needing treatment.
