Who's Really To Blame?
by AllTimeJeff ini hope all reading this will consider the following a commentary.
i have no one in mind, but a few posts have got me thinking about my own jw experience.
also, reading of the bad experiences and pain of others here gives me much room to pause.. clearly, most of us, with good reason, hate jehovah's witnesses (the religion, and sometimes, the people).

@ MrsFiorini " I think everyone associate with the WT is a victim of it"
I agree 100% with what you said.
@ Alltimejeff Yes, we all defended and stood by everything the org. taught because we were committed, fully trusted , and made a vow to do so to the end. But we did this, knowing nothing of the dynamics of their control, their hypocrisy, their lies, their punishments and their non Jesus love. None of us were FULLY informed and our choice / decision to join was based on only partial knowlege of their organization.
Some may say that you're only a victim as long as you allow yourself to be one. But you must remember that you are a victim because of a REAL situation where you have been wronged by another. We have all been the victim of a mighty swindler, who has deceived and cheated us by their dishonesty.
When some on here are being "verbally attacked", what you are really hearing is the pain, hurt and anger that comes with the realization of what the org. is all about. We have been subject to a serious power imbalance, and while some may bounce back quite quickly, for others, the recovery is a long and painful process.
Many of us have left, being told that it was all OUR fault and not theirs. Some have been left with no family support, and almost all of us have been presented with a heavy sack of condemnation as we walked out the door.
All the Reniaas and suchlike are also victims as someone else mentioned. The only difference is that they are not fully aware of it yet. I do hope these ones keep coming here, and I do hope they wake up. I appreciate what you,re trying to say, but you must remember that although we FULLY understand where they are, as we have been there ourselves......They do not understand where WE are, or have any insight into what some people have gone, or are going through, and nor will they until they come out themselves. Their view of us - is the Society's view of us. We are Filthy Apostates ! But when this does happen Jeff, and they do wake up, you know that these ones will be flooded with sympathy and support from us here on the forum, as we dol truly understand what it feels like for someone trying to make sense of everything.
They may feel they have the" magic " to try and bring us back to the' true religion', but they are representing a place that is hateful to all on here. Imagine someone coming out of an abusive relationship after many years with no confidence or self esteem, still recovering from being battered and bruised and someone came to them to tell them how great their ex-partner was, and what a lovely person they were and how stupid they were to leave them. What kind of reaction would be provoked by this on the part of the abused one.? Emotional ? Angry? Explosive?
Nothing different happens here. As far as the Org. is concerned these ones shouldn't even be on here so do they have the right to be offended ?

Hi wary I've just started a post too. "Flashes of sh**te" to highlight the orgs. ridiculous teachings and interpretations. The first one I highlighted was from the book of revelation.
.Rev 14 : 20 This apparently referred to the publishing of the Finished Mystery Book and foretold that the 1600 furlongs represented the distance from where it was written (Scranton, Pennsylvania), to where it was published (WT Headquarters in Brooklyn, NY)... provided you travelled by way of the Lackawana railroad and Hobo Ken's Ferry.
So,,,to answer your question, then NO, their explanation of REV was not realistic then, and prob most of it is not realistic now. The prob with WTBTS is that they have an answer to everything. It is not always the right answer, but they NEED to have an answer of some sort none the less to prove to everyone else that they are the all knowing ones.

@ Amha'-aret Hobo kens brother was there at his request. He wanted him to hear what had to be said in the hope that something might strike a chord and make him think. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to have happened , as HK said, he ended up testifying against him at the judicial committee.

Hi Rhoda, thanks for posting. Nice to hear from you also. Laura told me you're going to her birthday next week. I'll be there too. I often used to comment about the "complete" shutting off you experienced from your parents. I was still very much active then and still in the thick of things and still couldn't get my head round how they could physically make themselves do that to you. Anyway, like Matt, I'm out too. Da'd 6months ago, it's the best thing I ever did. Look forward to speaking to you.
Lorraine.

How do you feel when you see groups of Jehovah's Witnesses in the ministry?
by nicolaou inregret, anger, frustration?
how about sadness, sorrow, sympathy, understanding, even compassion!.
it can be quite confusing at times, especially if some of those witnesses were your friends.

I know Craig. Its nothing personal....against you or trace........it's the behaviour I'm trying to highlight that's caused by the brainwashing. For some reason, the longer I'm out the harder I'm finding it to deal with. I have so many negative emotions about all things JW. If I wasn't facing everything daily it might be a bit easier.........But I think I'm in danger of becoming bitter and twisted. Please be assured I didn't mean to offend. I never mention any names to anyone when discussing my experiences........I'm not making excuses, although it may look like it, I just said to Denise today that I really wish Me, Trace and Julie could all still be friends. We were close and i still have affection for trace, thats why it angers and frustrates me that she cant see ME , and not the APOSTATE . I haven't changed, but the force is strong and like you I do hope that she wakes up and comes out.

They might have got something right here if a certain pop star currently making a comeback is anything to go by.
