i am especially inerested in their response as to whether the governing body is god's channel of truth, leading the members of the congregations, the sum of whom cumulatively make up jehovah's organization.

I'm not an active member, although I do go to the odd cultfest every now and then.

You asked that active JW's comment on here first. What do you expect them to say? First off, any active JW on here should be ashamed of themselves, after all, it's sites like this that the WTB$ warn them against.

Anyway, back on topic........

Jehovah is tool. He doesn't exist, he can't exist. Read the bible, cover to cover and you'll see for yourself that the god of the bible cannot be a real entity. Therefore, in my opinion, the GB are just normal men, who have had it good.

Serving Jehovah Doesn't Take Much Effort

i was having a conversation with a friend recently about this and i wrote down what is expected of a jehovah's witness;.

go to 4 meeting per week.

I was having a conversation with a friend recently about this and I wrote down what is expected of a Jehovah's Witness;

Go to 4 meeting per week. This includes getting ready twice a week for the meetings. if you've got kids, you've got to get them dressed and ready to. A good brother (or sister) goes and picks up one of the elderly brothers/sisters on his way to the meetings. Therefore, travelling to and from the Demon Hall is included also.
Preparation for 3 of the 4 meetings.
Going out on the ministry on the weekends, but it's also best if you can go out during the week to.
Reading the montly editions of the Watchtower and Awake!
Daily bible reading.
Family study.
Personal study.
Prayer.
Prepare to go to 1, 2 and 3 day assemblies. This involves the same sort of stepsas going to the meetings, but on a much larger scale.
Going to the Memorial.
Calling up brothers/sisters to arrange to go to the ministry.
Preparing yourself for your return visit(s).
Preparing yourself for your bible study.
Cleaning the Demon Hall
Shepherding Visits
Lunch with the Gay CO (our's is gay you see. Not that I have a problem with that, but I always thought Jehovah did).

Can anyone add other points?

You see, it's not easy at all.

i find it incredible that these men who are supposed to be the best most spiritual men the witnesses have to offer, yet in the 70's 80's period one edward chitty was gay...leo greenless was a pedophile and we even had an "apostate" ray franz who turned on the organisation.

goes to show no human organisation is run perfectly.....can we expect more bumps in the "governing body road?

lets look at king david.

2 samuel 2:4 after defeating the moabite army in battle he makes the survivors lay down in rowes on the ground...he then gets a mesuring tape and mesures each row killing two out of three survivors!
