  The Borg "our mother"? Good Grief!

  i have heard it all now, or at least up to now, the borg never ceases to surprise me.

  so when jesus was talking to his deciple from the cross (opps stake), "this is your mother" or something like that, was he talking about the borg?

  Inference was made at the DC this summer -- I never really got the answer to the question, but there is a search you can do on this board - type in Who is the mother? and Blondie has laid out some of the quotes used by the WTBTS before - goes back to Fred Franz time then seemed to disappear, now it is re-appearing and still does not make sense to me - Jesus has his wife of 144,000 but this "mother" is spoken of as Jehovahs.... so there has to be a difference although the society is making the mother the 144,000 and we are to be loyal to "her"...

  unproductive kingdom proclaimers won't leave my kingdom hall, how do i rid our hall of these vultures or turkeys?.

  "you can't fly like the eagles if you hang out with turkeys".

  after visiting your site, i decided to allow one of the spiritual weak individuals into my car group, it was not easy but you have made valid points i find very self condemning.

That must be a joke... you came on the board, you don't have to do anything but each word you write gives us more information that indicates you must be on Prozac.... so her daughter is dressing down and has a Iphone, what has that to do with you? Your responsibility is to be nice! Three richest ladies... what a smug, self opinionated person you are, and if true, very materialistic..and to call her daughter a slut?? Hummmm -

  Just shut up and drive! Say, nice to work with you and go home and make supper for your mate!

  I can just see you standing before "the throne" and giving excuses for your actions. People in the "world" are not as ignorant as you are in the "truth".

  I'm so offended by what happened today at the KIngdom Hall!!

  so today we were late for the meeting as usual.

  this is because i take a really bad medication where i literally cannot function in the first part of the day but without it i am even worse.

  we got there near the end of the talk and it was in my opinion very anoying.

  If you want to go to the meetings, do so and don't leave if you are tired. There are many brothers and some sisters who do go to sleep and no-one really cares. You should go to an elder your trust and inform him of your health, and although you probably won't get anywhere, at least, the word is out that you are not well and need the rest. I too, have felt sleepy due to my health and nodded off, it's good you are making the effort to just be there, let alone be scrutinized for it!

  As far as the mother of your friend, she is one of those righteous ones and can't see anything unless its pointing fingers at people who dont live up to her standards.. don't sweat this stuff, they are always there, YOU do what is best for YOUR health, remember Jesus was tired too, its just a human condition....

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses a hierarchical religion? And does it matter?

  inspired by the illustration in the april 15th watchtower (above), i thought it would be worthwhile to further explore this facet of the society for two reasons.... because the society has spent decades criticizing the catholic church for being hierarchical, andbecause the society has recently become more open about its hierarchical nature than ever before.below is a diagram i have prepared which shows the organizational similarities that watch tower society now shares with the catholic church.... .

  until recently, the governing body could place the "faithful slave" above it at the top of the pyramid, but as of october 5th this fuzzy doctrine was scrapped - thus removing the final distinguishing factor between the governing body and popedom.. as always, i would be interested in your thoughts.... .

  Pedos - Hardwired?

  from the various readings about the subject, it occured to me that pedophilia could very well be hardwired, as are homosexuality and heterosexuality.

  that's not to say that it can be legitimized, like the other 2 sexualities.

  it does mean though, that a different approach needs to be taken as soon as pedo proclivity shows itself.

  In our area, a pervert/pedophile was released, he took residence across the street from elementary school, the police told the school principal but nothing was told to the parents and right now, there is hell to pay and a lot of questions being asked

  Why aren't these guys wearing GPS systems, even if they have done their time? If they refuse to be re habilitated, are chronic offenders and the inmates have not been able to "sway" the offender, they should be tracked forever - but then it all costs money, doesn't it? Excuses, excuses - there are some big islands off the coast, why not quarantine them to there and they can molest each other and leave kids alone - only have a boat deliver food/goods every two weeks, just a dream!

  They cannot be "fixed" their brain is wired and NEVER should they be a part of general population again.

  I can speak to the selecting of who or who cannot attend a party. There is a marking process being used and rather than encouraging those who are not making their time or are sick/have a illness, or longterm nerve problems they are neglected and build animosity, yet still trying to hold on as they believe -rightly or wrongly - that this is Jehovahs organization and they have to make it to live.

  There are many disappointments in life, and you choose to accept or reject them AC... the language you used initially was not appropriate for one who is in the "truth"... if you are for real your anger is most aggressive.. back off and let us know what the truth of your situation is..

  I also too know of those in various baptized ones who do travel from cong to cong and "use" the sisters and brothers to get what they need, keep a smile on their face and suck the life out of people, then move to the next and repeat, never growing spiritually, people just accept them and shrug their shoulders.... but once bitten, twice shy -- you learn to spot them and you smile back and keep on trucking.... that's life --keep your money in your wallett and furniture in the house..... you just do not expect it from your spiritual family... unfortunately that is not going to change.. people are gullible and mostly want to help where they can.. it's a DNA thing..

  Some thoughts on the recent BOE letter

  with all the recent efforts by the society to stifle publication of their recent boe letter i have been re-reading it and thinking again about some of the consequences of what this letter really means.. i've had some thoughts so am just throwing them out there to see what the rest of you might think.. firstly, i have absolutely no truck with the core issue regarding the lack of disclosure to the authorities when child abuse is suspected or alledged.

  although there are very good reasons for the biblical precedant regarding two or more witnesses this really cannot be forced to apply to this issue.

  in the time of the mosaic law, the "elders" were the top level of authority - they were the police, judge and jury - responsible for civil, criminal and spiritual matters.

  I know in Canada there is this law about the "Privacy Act". I don't know how far reaching it goes as regards a JC and reporting to cong when a pedo is now in the congregation. Are they permitted to verbalize the previous actions of this person to the congregation? or will they be brought up on legal charges if his/her previous actions are told to the congregation?

  Anybody know??

  Remember how the society says, if you were a member of a church prior to becoming a witness, you should write them a letter advising them you are now one of Jehovahs Witnesses....... sorry -- associates (remember - only JW's are of the anointed) we are not really JW's according to earlier statements years ago - we are Jonadabs, helpers or associates of the anointed. This letter would show we no longer believe in their false teachings so the question now is: if we find ourselves drifting away and fading to the point we are invisible, and if we wrote the society and told them we no longer believe in their teachings, would they truly deduct those members from the total worldwide average pub reports? No - as it would look defeatist and the mass would become dispondent if the truth is not growing, showing blessings being poured out.

  Also too - the harrassment would start to make sure you, your family, acquaintances would become df'd -- yet never count the number in their lack of growth figure.

  A little off topic but cobaltcupcake mentioned the disassociation..

  WTS closes/dissolves 435 congregations in 29 countries

  as listed in 2013 yearbook.. yes, most countries have increases in congregations.

  most of the countries that have less congregations than last year, show 1 or 2 less.

  however, poland shows a dramatic 327 congregations less, from 1,814 (2011) to 1,487. netherlands, 25 less congregations.

  Yes its true.. it has been mentioned off the platform and in the KM that if you are d to d witnessing and a woman answers the door, we are to ask if the man of the house is home, and then if he does come to the door, and you speak with him and it looks like an RV, then you are to turn the call over to a brother to follow up, a sister can not make the follow up call...

  In no way would I ask a woman that question, sexist or what? I dont think she would like being passed over for her man/hubby/partner. etc..
