Oh happy days one of my df sons has been "REINSTATED"!!! and my parents and employees and old friends are soooorooooo happy!
by oompa inhow long do i let it last????
he called my dad the next day and he said it was basically a distant grunt....until those magical words (sorry sparlock) "i was reinstated last night"....and then tinkerbell started spreading her fairy dust and all was well....my son is still hopeful he can still fade and will quickly rattle off to me the short list of successful faders he knows that have a pretty normal life.....i told him i so want to tell dad and my ex and the other most self-righteous ones that he is just like me and figured it all out by himself despite my best efforts to wake him up for years!!!!!.
but that would be toooooooooooooo easy toooooooo in your face doncha think???

I AM THE NEW MEETUP ORGANIZER FOR EX-JW's IN MICHIGAN
by AK MCGRATH inhi all you fellow michiganders.. i wanted to make you aware that the meetup site entitled, "ex-jehovah's witnesses of michigan" will not be disolved.
i decided since today was the last day before it would be no more, i should step up, and so i gladly did.. seeing that there has not been one meetup since it's inception, i plan to change that.
i know there is at least one person from here who is registered with our meetup.

I like to drink canned Pepsi. Before I drink it, I put it in the freezer for about an hour so that it can get super cold.
Yes, me and the hubby got into an argument about my putting my can of Pepsi in the freezer. Still not sure what the real issue was

These movies/songs are banned if you are a JW
by usualusername incoz it teaches that life exists on other planets.
grease.
think it was banned in a watchtower.

At my congregation back in the 80's-anything by Michael Jackson was banned because he DA'd himself. It was mentioned that it would be like inviting him into your home to visit if you played his records/cassettes. And I LOVED me some Michael Jackson-still do.

My favorite is the one that every 'wordly' person is evil, selfish, hateful and greedy.
LMAO--JWs are the epitome of clean wholesome living, girl or boy next door type, sitting round in a circle playing guitar... I've never been around anyone playing a guitar unless he was on stage at a concert-LOL

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 05-13-2012 WT Study (URGENCY)
by blondie inmaintain your sense of.
how can we maintain our sense.
urgent now than ever?.

If the message is so urgent, why do they use the door-to-door prominently in their preaching? Wouldn't it be more effective to use the television, internet and radio? If there was a tornado or tsunami coming and we tried to let people know by ONLY knocking on the doors , how many would survive?
Probably not too many.

Share your success story about raising kids outside of the JW religion.....
by QuestioningEverything inthis is in response to a poster/troll who said that the jw life is the only way to raise a responsible, moral young person.
i have 3 sons--19, 18 and 14. the oldest two just finished up their first year in college-not community college(nothing wrong with that) they are at a state university.
one made the dean's list both semesters.

I have 3 sons--19, 18 and 14. The oldest two just finished up their first year in college-not community college(nothing wrong with that) they are at a state university. One made the Dean's list both semesters. My youngest is in the National Jr. Honor Society. They haven't been to jail, gotten anyone pregnant and are polite, respectful young men.
Raising them outside of the restraints of the JW religion was one of the best choices I made as a parent.
Please share your parenting success story....

Holidays
by Flat_Accent innow it's been a good 8 months since i told my parents i no longer considered myself a jw.
things have settled down to an extent but the hurt is still there - they think i'm going to die and as such are overly concerned for my safety.. in november i met a gal online and we've kept contact.
a few months ago we decided i would come to visit her for a week.
