  Sing Praises to Jehober

  last week when i was tipsy i ordered a copy of sing praises to jehovah, and it came in the mail today.

  i hadn't heard some of the songs since i was a child, and i've rediscovered some of the lyrics.

  they are quite amusing (albeit disturbing).. this is a classic everyone knows, song number 2. .

  Funny... At the first meeting I went to I had the distinct impression I was listening to the Disneyfied version of hymns... However instead of "It's a small world" it was more like "It's an evil world and everyone but us is gonna die" But the tempo was very upbeat!!!

  ok i'll start.. 13 y/o or so.. once it rained for a month straight.

  we had an old dry tank dump in the back that filled up with water.

  there were tons of frogs that showed up and started breeding.. i was looking at them on the edge of the water through my .22 scope.

  jws say they are clean and pure and undefiled and not like the world but in reality there are those that do very evil things and they either have fallen through the cracks, have gotten disciplined or disfellowshipped.. we realize that just because a person says they are a christian, it doesn't mean they will always act like one.. regarding pedophiles, do you believe that jws have a huge problem involving an infestation of pedos?

  Mickey, Although I don't have any statistics, I would take an educated guess and say that many who are engaging in homosexual acts in prison do not identify themselves as being gay, they are opportunistic. Again, that is a guess, perhaps there is a higher predominance of people who identify themselves as homosexual in prison.

  How would you choose a God of your own understanding?

  ok for those that don't know i have been going to aa for about six months now.. within the aa program step 3 of the 12 step program speaks about turning our will over to a higher power.

  as the aa does not align itself to a religion or sect the closing prayer in an aa meeting is said to a god of our own understanding.. when i first went to a meeting and it closed with a prayer i left fuming.

  i thought i had put the god thing away 12,13 years ago.

  I think the God of my own understanding is our creator, no more, no less... I waffle on this though... There have been times in my life where I have believed that I am being guided by the will of God, and then I'll think that this is just wishful thinking on my part. So I am currently calling myself "agnostic" in the sense that I believe the existence of a deity is unknowable.

  Welcome... I hope you might consider changing your handle!!! I wouldn't say you're "very stupid" although I'll bet you're pretty confused right now... You have many, many people here who are more than willing to help you through this... If you are worried that someone will figure out who you are, first of all, they shouldn't be here... Aside from that, be careful with personal information you provide, try not to post anything that will enable someone to figure out where you are located geographically. Really though, this is a very safe place to be... Ask questions, keep reading, there is always someone to guide you in the right direction. Oh, and if you are worried about your husband finding out... Using Internet Explorer, go to "tools" then "internet options" then "clear history"...

  i've been away from jwd for a month or so.

  i've just been busy in life and am trying to rebuild, or should i say, make new friendships but it is slow-going.

  missinglink and i haven't been to any meetings since april and have no plans in going back.

  That's funny... My "friend" did the exact same thing... He cut me from facebook, blocked me from instant messenger and will NOT talk to me... What a sad "religion" that encourages this kind of behaviour...

  Afraid of the end of the world?

  i am wondering how much of my anxiety about the end of the world is from the wt experience, and how much is just me.

  i just watched wall-e, and while a cute movie, it really made me anxious.

  scifi in general makes me nervous.

  First Time Blood Donor

  there is a blood drive at work this coming tuesday.. i'm scheduled for 10:00am and this will be my first donation.

  does anyone have any suggestions to make it successful?.

  i volunteered about 2 years ago but got sick the day before and so i was declined.

  Aww, I'm sorry to hear that They won't take my blood either. I used to donate very regularly, but when I lived in Scotland and came back they permanently denied me... I hope the cookies were good at least!!
