If this is true, I am out!
Oh wait, I already left!
the "priscilla" deliberations.. gb subcommittees now re-considering role of women in the organization.. example of phoebe as "diakonos" revisited.. could women be appointed to ministerial servant positions in view of the need in congregations?.
what's your take on latest rumors?

i'm new and have posted something along these lines recently on another thread, but i'm wondering, do marriages between non-jws and jws work?
by "work" i mean can they be loving and happy?
and what about kids?
I am actively opposed (although raised in).
My wife is very active (along with my kids).
You will have a lot of time alone (I don't mind it though).
Just be prepared.
Tread.
i think that means that we are going to go to even less meetings and just generally have less to do with the jws because the hall we are at now is where all his friends are... unless somebody tries to take him under his wing and screws everything up.... btw, this was his idea.
thoughts?.
Go to a KH in Rhode Island.
There is a bunch of "barely" Witnesses in that state.
list some thoughts and suggestions for anyone thinking about fading from the organization..
Here is how my fade worked perfectly.
I just stopped going. When they called for my time,I said,"I have none",
When the elders came to visit, I just said I have been busy and would try to adjust my schedule. Haven't been back since.
My feeling was that I lived 30+ years trying to please this man-made organization and now I was going to man up and just be done with it. If you know the rules it is pretty easy to play the game.
I absolutely would have Da'd if my believing wife did not ask me not to.
At least now all my Witless relatives will still talk to me.
I know it is different for everyone, and only time before I am DF'd, but it's kind of fun being openly "apostate" and getting away with it.
I would not recommend this to anyone as I have a unique circumstance that allows this to be the case.
alright, with my last post it should be obvious i'm in conflict...if it's not, then yeah.. my boyfriend is not a witness.
he understands that witnesses can't marry or date non witnesses.
but i guess could say we've been stalling...looking for a solution a gray area to that black and white situation...but with time getting as it is...stalling doesn't work anymore.
Re: My Boyfriend's not a Witness...
But I heard oompa's was!
this has probably already been discussed to some degree on here.
but i think its probably a commonly noticed thing that jehovahs witness women and becoming more and more unstable mentally and physically as a whole.
they seem to suffer from a bizzarely high percentage of scent sensitivities, chronis fatigue syndrome and the like.are they making it up for attention?
Nothing new. I've noticed this since the early 70's.
Damn! It took me this long to get out?
when i was a dub.....and had such good friends...party friends....vacation friends.....we never even did the morning text, cause we all woke up at different times depending on how much we drank the night before.........we could be on a cruise, at a beach house, or riding board in colorado......and damm....spiritual wt conversation was not in the picture!!........
so kinda funny that they all shun me now, even though i am not dfd........so if i had them over sociall....should they even come, what are they afraid of?...........i mean back then the bible shit never ever came up anyway............oompa.
did you guys have friends who were all dubby on vaca/holiday or at parties?
When I get annoyed at work, I tell my coworkers I'm sending a Jehovah Witness to their house this weekend.
It gets a good laugh. Until one actually showed up at a coworkers house on a Saturday.
it's three parts, not super-long.
i really can't believe the stuff the elders said in this case.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhgdqgtth98.

Not sure why a stranger was allowed in the room, unless a minor was involved (perhaps stepfather).
If this is real, it was a pointless meeting. While I agree with every argument against the JW's, the Elders did the right thing and recognized this guy was just there to stir the pot and ended it quickly. The Elders handled it by the book (their book).
As many posters have done, he would have been better off mailing his thesis to every member of the cong.
Still, something tells me this isn't real. Not with that second person in the room. The guy was definitely a "born-in" though, you can't fake that.
Nice to have you!
