another thread up in smoke.
why don't you guys want to discuss Paine?
It must hurt them, BOOYAH! (paine, hurts them, get it, huh?huh? woo!, ahh stupid, sorry)
on another thread purporting to start a discussion of this work, some suggested that it be restarted in a new thread, as the consideration there had begun in a polluted way and had only stayed at that level.
since things poorly begun usually end worse, i am starting the thread as some have requested.
i am currently beginning to read age of reason, and will return to it from time to time as time itself allows.

well, the elders are coming over tomorrow for a shepherding call with me and my wife.
i am sure they will discuss my low hours in the field ministry and how i am not doing everything i could be doing.
for my wife's sake, i will be good and mostly "smile and nod".
The ordeal is over. They came over but it wasn't as bad as I envisioned. They backed WAY off when we revealed to them that my wife is bipolar and that one of our children is chronically ill (asthma). They said it was a wonder we made it to the KH or out in service whenever we did. So then they read us some scriptures and went on with life. They didn't try to waterboard me or anything. So everyone is happy. The wife got her "spiritual encouragement" that she needed, I wasn't forced to lie (much), and we were not oppressed by the men in black.
er
What a CROCK! If being depressed gets you off the hook, how do they justify going after ANY witnesses?
interesting reading in a recent new scientist magazine - 26 april 2008 issue.. .

to read the complete article you have to buy the magazine.. blood transfusions found to harm some patients26 april 2008 rachel nowakmagazine issue 2653 "for the life of the flesh is in the blood.
Would be interesting to find out about Rachel Nowak and if she has any links to the JW's.
In my opinion the article is quite pro-JW which is surprising considering The New Scientist's normally uncompromising stand against creationists in general....

The guinea pig is the scientists best friend. I volunteered for a brain MRI study once, I have never had such a good friend in my life as the PhD running the study. If I requested a BJ in exchange for 30 more mins in the machine, I'm sure it could have been arranged.

Well seems obvious to me. Pumping life into someone like that, clearly would cause damage. Maybe if the vaccine/autism link is firmly established, the super-old JW's will jump up from their wheelchairs and yell "BOOYAH!" we knew we was right that vaccination was evil befer these derned youngsters got their "new light".
In all fairness, Jehovah's Witnesses have been excellent guinea pigs and have indeed contributed to science by being so. Now, we need "new light" which reveals that the key to salvation is volunteering for dangerous medical experiments and then we'll see the full measure of Jehovah's gift to medicine.
i've asked afew witnesses at work and around town about no more bookstudy.........they are all so relieved!
one elder with four kids said..."it will make things alot easier, with rushing home from work, the society understands our needs.
"......another brother said: "it's great, now we can go to the cinema on half price tuesday's!
Jemima Witness (kinda lame, not Family Guy)

Don't be concerned about anything in the sky unless it starts galloping.
i enjoyed today's essay on the "this i believe" segment, just wanted to share it.
my wife turned me on to a local charity.
i am considering ways i can help too.
i have two $25 loans out.... one to a woman in azherbijan and one to a woman in cambodia
Cool! what kind of interest are you raking in on those bad boys? I've heard that fleecing the poor is a pretty good racket.
i heard that they are planning to cut meetings down to twice a week and the book study will become part of the school and service meeting...any one else hear about this?.
thanks everyone!! would anyone know where i can read more ..like where i can find the post?
That depends.... Are you looking for:
1. Basic Facts?
2. Apostatic glee?
3. Conspiracy theories?
We've got a copy of the letter somewhere. However, I'd note that if you were more diligent in your meeting attendance, Mr. Faderpants, you'd already have the facts. You naughty meeting misser you! That "we" had the scoop long before the less advanced Witness is now just something to be proud of rather than actively gloat about.

elitist blueprint for world government revealed.
new book written by insider - 6,000 globalists control the planet and plan to completely end national sovereignty, manifesto for dealing with "antiglobalist" resistors unveiled.
No Witness will buy this. The Revelation book already has all of the empires assigned, and they already had to double-up on the Anglo-American empire. No room in Revelation for another world empire. Sorry guys.
I wonder when we'll get to meet the anti-Christ?
on what basis did god so love the world?.
the world of mankind had been condemned to death by god's curse in eden!.
god viewed mankind as "dust on the scales".
Beliefs about luck abound based on personal experience with the "short term." People develop a kind of sampling sense of how often things occur based on their experiences. These beliefs are skewed by the short term. Random is random and there is no such thing per se as luck.
I can never get over people saying there's no such thing as "luck". Sure there is no such thing as "carrying the quality of having better things happen consistenly against odds" such as a supernatural power. BUT there IS such thing as "luck".
Luck is an event where something happens in excess of the governing odds. If you win at the Casino, you are correctly described as "lucky".
