Doesn't every organization or single person who says they have god's spiritual power uniquely to themselves and have his backing and direction, creating a situation where humanity will inevitably be damaged in one way or another ?

Do you have any evidence that the GB had bad intent?
by AlainAlam indo you have any evidence that the gb had bad intent?
as opposed to blind faith/cognitive dissonance and honest mistakes.. i'm inclined to think they have the best of intentions and are just wrong (primarily because the bible is wrong), but i'm willing to consider the evidence otherwise..

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread
by Simon inthis topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.
latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

I think taking precautionary distancing is still the best route to go until more information is acquired about what effects this virus can have with people that have preexisting health issues such as asthma, heart problems, diabetes.
I do think a vaccine will be available for this virus within a couple of months due to the fact there are an enormous amount of clinical institutions that are working on a vaccine right now, dramatically more so than any other contagious virus to date.
Lets keep are fingers crossed.

Remember the Revelation book?
by wozza ini recall when it was released ,that's when i was a drone, how excited i felt at the prospect of reading it and formulating ways to sell it at the homes in my area.. i thought, finally a book to explain the last book in the bible and indeed one that the churches seemed to want to leave alone!.
i sold quite a few probably because of my enthusiasm and can still remember clearly the first day when i went knocking on doors with it ,and it's been decades since.. but over time it lost it's shine and my mind started to question the explanations in it due to the scene of other things being changed in the jw beliefs.. do you remember they flogged that book so many times in the book studies even when it was found to have "newer light " eclipsing it!.
who else remembers the printed pages with the official corrections to insert into the book ,so many that the book collapsed to be of no relevance anymore really.....what an embarrassment!.

The Revelation book put out by the WTS is just another example of the WTS being a fear mongering "corrupt"
religious publishing house.
Exploiting the belief in the bible is the game they played to not only enhance the proliferation and distribution of their publications but also to exploit people fears, ignorance and insecurities.
The men who run this organization are still operating this publishing house pretty much upon that same active premise.
Kind of like if it works dont break it, the money is there, so is the power and control.

One of others reasons the WTS wanted to move out of Brooklyn is they wanted to divest themselves away from the Watchtower identity, which had proven overtime corrupt and false.
Why didn't they erect a large viewable sign of Watchtower on the front of their new building ?
They realized their buildings were get old and more difficult to keep up, add in the financial value of those buildings and decision was agree to.
It should also be noted that the WTS banked 2 billion dollars in the sales of all their buildings in Brooklyn. $$$
Now they stay what looks like a lake side resort complete with swimming pools and tennis courts in a tranquil rural setting.
No noise, congestion and pollution from the big city and a brand new identity JWorg.
Jehovah would stay there himself.

Yes it was full of the false doctrines the WTS concocted to help sell it to the public, just like most other pieces of literature put out by the WTS.
People who are JWS are just the WTS's own self designed public sales representatives.
The more "time" you spend out selling/distributing these pieces of literature made by the WTS the more they are showing loyalty and devotion to Jehovah and elevating their righteousness in his eyes.

I think Limbaugh is out and out wrong on this
by JimmyYoung ini listen to rush most days for entertainment.
i agree with him on some issues and disagree on others.
but today he said something i believe is an out and out lie.

he is in the fringe crazy area in some of his talking points.
Rush has always been a loudmouth idiot who spouted off his opinions diverse from intellectually integrity.
That's probably why he got to be a popular radio journalist.
He proved outspoken controversial stupidity does sell in the market place.

Its very important to give money to the leaders of the JWS (GB) and other top tier branch leaders, who else is going to pay for their health and dental care, their food and housing, their swimming pools and tennis courts, the cars they drive and insurance, their airline flights to travel around the world.
Jehovah provides for these people in abundance.

Any thoughts on Saturday Nights "Contravirus" version on SNL? I thought it was hilarious.
by RubaDub ini wish i had taped the snl show since it was the first one "live" since the contravirus thing began but i am sure they will play it again in a month or two.
i know a lot of people were anticipating how they could pull it off but they did, imo, a great job.
it was a real learning experience also for the entire production staff on how to pull this off with most people working from their homes and no live audience.

Over all I didn't think it was very good, in light of the circumstances maybe not surprising.
SNL was born out of doing skits with multiply characters interacting with one another, trying to do comedy on a singular presentation in front of a web cam pretty hard to do.
This recent group of players I dont think has been the best assembled cast, with Kate Mckinnon probably being the most talented and versatile, the most likely reason she has been offered movie contracts.
The show will be back in the not too distant future.

So mythological bullshit inherently created by the ancients through their imagination and ignorance of the world in which we live does create abstract delusions in people.
OK
I prefer a semblance of reality composed upon facts and acquired knowledge.
For thousands and thousands of years mankind has been worshiping and praying to various human devised gods and not one thing has ever happen out that, today and in the past.
Maybe there isn't such a thing as a supernatural being/god after all ?
......just saying
