It doesn't really make legal difference to how a religious order enforces dress to its following adherent active members whether its on camera or live.

Legal Concerns About "Zoom" Meetings!
by Atlantis inthis whole "zoom" thing has got me wondering whether some of it is legal or not.
if a person has to dress up for a zoom meeting the way the watchtower dictates, doesn't this really go "beyond" cult?.
even the cults who committed mass suicide were able to dress the way they wanted for their meetings.

High controlling segregating religious organizations are subjectively working cults by definition, its just that they all have a specific variance of that control.
One could identify if an organization is a highly controlling cult by these ways of operation.
1. Opposing critical thinking
2. Isolating members and penalizing them for leaving
3. Emphasizing special doctrines outside scripture
4. Seeking inappropriate loyalty to their leaders
5. Dishonoring the family unit
6. Crossing Biblical boundaries of behavior (versus sexual purity and personal ownership)
7. Separation from the Church

doesn't this really go "beyond" cult?
Since when did the JWS not get identified as a cult ?
It is a high controlling religoius cult and has been for many decades
JWs are the Watchtower's own public sales representatives so dress and appearance was always a pressing out ward concern.

The radicals make me feel like I have to defend Trump when I don't want to because of their crazy lies.
by JimmyYoung inas i have stated in other posts i voted for trump because he said he would crack down on illegals while the left was trying to open the flood gates and let them in to destroy the nation.
was he the one i wanted in 16, no i was hoping for cruz.
he is arrogant but smart and somewhat polished and had many views like i do.

Sister Not Sure If She Is 144 000 or Great Crowd
by Awake at last ini haven’t posted here for years as i have now moved on and am satisfied with the choice i have made to leave watchtower.
however in light of the coronavirus and people in australia and other countries being asked to stay at home i became concerned for a witness sister who lives in melbourne alone who is 88 years old.
today i gave her a call as i don’t trust the local witnesses to care for her.

Is There Any Jehovah’s Witness News You Want To Share?

Yes ..... keep the pretentiousness up brothers and sisters during your appearance on the inter net.
Smiles should be presented to show how we are the happiest people on the planet, right up to when Jehovah starts throwing fire balls from heaven onto people during Armageddon burning people alive.
Jehovah likes his people to always smile, its a way of showing submissive loyalty.

Why is the rate of CONVID-19 in Canada only 20-25% of the US ?
by RubaDub inany thoughts?
i would expect vancouver and toronto to be huge epicenters with the rate of international travel there.
with vancouver highly asian and toronto a mixture of everywhere, they are either just behind in the cycle or doing something that makes more sense than what is happening here.. rub a dub.

But I still find Vancouver an anomaly with a population of 700,000 and nearly one third are Asians, primarily from China and Korea.
Actually there are 2 million in the greater Vancouver area.
Yes there are a high volume of Asians living here but not all were traveling to China in the Wuhan city district .
You would think because the Asian population percentage there would higher number of incidences but that's not the case.
I live in Vancouver.
As of the latest numbers released on March 28, 2020, there are a total of 884 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in B.C. with a population of about 3 million .
• The cases span all B.C. health regions: Vancouver Coastal (444), Fraser Health (291), Island Health (60), Interior Health (77) and Northern Health (12).
• 17 people have died, 81 are in hospital (52 in intensive care) and 396 have recovered.

Personally I would be pissed at people who constantly called me by a name that wasn't mine.
It shows a lack of respect and love does it not ?

When this is over...
by joey jojo inwhat will the world be like once this pandemic is over?
the world has been through this before, in the form of the bubonic plague and it left changes to life still felt today, especially in regards to the economic system.
so many people dying meant a smaller working class that meant their skills and labour was suddenly more valuable which in turn raised wages.

But, will I be able to avoid Noahide Law? I don't think so.
So WT just how long were you a JWS, ? you certainly show evidence of some kind of mental virus.
What I'm more concerned about is the world's economy after, people not spending their money or working means less tax derived and collected by the governments, which they have now borrowed billions to help out their populations through this pandemic. ???
I sense higher taxes for awhile and a variable economic recession.

What do you expect from a guy who has the intellectual acumen of a grade school teenager.
Just listen to him speak or Tweet as it may be.
The people behind him are unquestioningly smarter and drive most of "his" decisions.
He reminds of guy I used to know in high school who got driven to school everyday by the family's personal assistant, big ego but little brains.
