Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread
by Simon inthis topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.
latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

These proactive measures are based on Bible principles
Yes this makes sense since the ancient Hebrews knew what a virus was and how to deal with these kinds of contagious viruses.
The GB leaders of the JWs are truly self deluded idiots.
Oh the power can you just feel the power.

Judaeo Christian religious practices may have actually come from ancient Egyptian religoius beliefs and practices
by Finkelstein inunder close investigation of ancient middle eastern civilizations and their religoius beliefs and practices, there appears to be a connecting commonality derived from astronomical mythological beliefs.
.
as shown through the documentary zeitgeist it would appear that these ancient civilizations plagiarized mythological beliefs from an original source to use for their own individual means and purpose, the ancient egyptian mythological practices being the originating source.. the documentary zeitgeist brings forth some interesting thoughts.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9ywr5tcjae.

One bit of fact noted in history is Egypt was one of the most dominant civilizations of the Mesopotamian region and the ancient Hebrews had a reoccurring relationship with it well documented in the Torah and bible .

I did check the link Cofty and I didn't find much contravening evidence there.
I read once somewhere that his dating involving certain deities were slightly embellished though .
The origin and practise of the Zodiac seemed right but it appears that some of his conclusions were more connecting theories.
......and how about an answer to the question I posed to you ?

Donating Blood a Disfellowshipping Offense?
by HiddenPimo inwhen i served as an elder i never heard of this scenario presenting itself - giving blood.. has anyone heard of a judicial case where a person donated and was disfellowshipped?
are there any references to this in the jw publications, manuals, handbooks?.
not so hiddenpimo :-).

By giving blood for the purpose of transfusion, you are making a stand against the no blood doctrine and would be seen as an act of apostasy.
If the matter was presented to the elders they would ask why and if there was no pursuance of repentance that person could find themselves in hot water, maybe even Dfed

Its interesting that these opposers of the film and its information attack not the information but the man, making more of a ad hominem attack.
So what your saying then Cofty is that the ancients did not plagiarize mythological stories from other established civilizations to use for themselves and embellish these stories to their own willful means and purpose ?

The probable answer to that question TBK was to keep their own select culture and uniquely identified civilization unified unto themselves, since the savior Messiah was prophesied anyways why not go further into creating one for their own sake ?

March 2020 Broadcast - Hard Push to Baptism. Why?
by Smiles inthe jw broadcast for march 2020 is a hard push for more baptisms, where mark sanctamonious sanderson makes ready use of the phrase "baptised disciples of jesus" instead of their typical catch phrase "baptised servants of jehovah".
the "jesus message" is somewhat unusual rhetoric for jehovah's witnesses.
why the big push for more baptism?

Same as always, get people to make a vow and devotion to the top GB leaders of the WTS/JWorg
From then on they can be controlled and owned by the GB men for their own will and means.
If you think about the whole operation of the WTS/JWS, it comes down to exploitation and money.

Funny how these in it to the end Dems are dropping out, could this be why?
by JimmyYoung ini am wondering if the dems dropping out who were "in it to the end" are dropping out because of having to shake hands and go into crowds with the corona virus spreading.
hmmm.

The reason the others have dropped out is because theoretically they cant win by examining the numbers.
