I was not living before my disfellowshipping as I was brought up as a brain dead little JW. Nowadays I would simply be too honest to go door-to-door as I cannot lie without bursting to laugh.

WOULD YOU BE AN ACTIVE WITNESS IF????
by minimus inwould you be an active witness or even an inactive one if you could change a few things?
for example: let's say the blood issue could be resolved, would you stay?
or if 1914 doctrine was dissolved or the disfellowshipping/ shunning view changed?

Elder says, "We live in times where people do things we don't understand.."
Borg has had solution or explanation to every aspect of human life, why this sudden lack of understanding? Maybe this elder just forgot the ubiquituous persecution, the menace of last days, lasted now for circa 50000 days of our modern time.

Your so called experience remainds me how yb gave tens of years ago impression that God or any other authority superior to human might have deposited (or affected to that effect) exactly missing amount of money to the bank account of a pioneer who was short of rent or something. It is definitely encouraging to read these experiences the only qualification needed is a strong trust in fairy tales.

Prayers of non-JWs are not heard!
by ozziepost inno, that's not what i think, but it is what the watchtower teaches!
see page 27 of the july 15 issue, where it states: a christian sister may on occasion be accompanied on a bible study by an unbaptized male kingdom publisher.
if she wishes, she may ask him to conduct the study.

Is This Too Rough?
by Stephanus insome of you know i've run a little webpage highlighting the end times beliefs of a certain mainstream evangelist.
he had a lot of whacky ideas, including two that dubs might recognise: the great pyramid as a prophetic calendar and the six thousand years since creation being "days" to the lord, the seventh "day" being the millennium.
he died last week in england, bringing my website to a halt (at some future date...).

I refused the military before the 1975 fuss started and I was serving my time when the fuss started. My mother kept writing me how wonderful it was when this old system of things will vanish within few years and all that usual. My mother, bye the way, have been with the Borg 50+ years and still is. I got out of the two prisons, first from the literal and in few years from Borg by being DF'd.
Then I got married and decided that I will be just a good example and not to read and talk about The Bible to my kids at all. I kept my idea but not hiding my past though. My son knew about my objection but I never said a single word as how he should behave in this respect, I left it all upon him. I was astonished when he came home one day and told that he chose civil service, in spite of the fact that he is very spotsminded, which I thought would have meant much to him.
Both of my kids have years ago decided to keep their relation to their grandmother at less than a formal level. They did not like my mother pushing the truth(tm) too hard on them, but that was not all. The last straw to my son was grandmother making constant remarks of his long hair and trying to force him to cut it short. That was a sensitive issue to him at that age and I said to myself that let us wait and see. Today his hair is too short to my opinion, not skinhead though.
My daughter has always had her own mind, she is very persistent but somehow I did not have problems in her handling (my wife had). My mother is strict type of an old lady and she tried to force my daughter to wear only skirts (typical dub). My daughter loved jeans and kept her head. I have very good relation to both of my kids but unfortunately my mother has in a way lost her first two grandchildren over her own dub-stupidity. I have told them to reconsider the situstion, but no avail. My daughter graduated a year ago and there was my mother aswell. The previous time they met was about six years ago. My wife made it clear before her death that her death is not even announced to my mother and I honored her last wish.
If only my mother would have not pushed those dub do's and don'ts everywhere. They were my children and I had the prime responsibility not she. Anyway it feels good to have this told.

Hi Stephanus
So that was the end of the story - the man that saw bacteria all around UK.

WHY JWS ARE BOOK SALESMEN

it was not an easy jobthere were many rebuffs.

Thats what it amounts up to if one is clumsy. Icy water does not kill as such. I am live and kicking in spite of every winter rolling naked in the snow and swimming in a moderate size hole in the ice. Of course I am not a book seller if that is of importance.

Biblical grounds for reinstatement?
by Haereticus inno i am not even contenplating of pleading for it.. i was reading pay attention to and i paid attention to 2 cor.
2:6,7 which were about the only next to appropriate verses quoted for the purpose.
reading around the verses (not normally recommended for dubs) did not assure me that those verses apply to reinstatement.

I agree with you as to disfellowshipping too, although some cleaning measures could be needed and justified. I just had the idea to see if there would be Bilbical grounds for reinstatement, if not then that fact alone would indicate that present disfellowshipping and shunning practise cannot be justified.
But as we all know this not the only unscriptural and unjust practise Borg should change.
