i had always thought that an agnostic was someone who just didn't know if there was a god, etc.
i don't like the above definition though, because though i feel like a rather "spiritual" person, i still feel like i am not sure what really is out there concerning god, religion, the afterlife, etc...but, the above definition just makes an agnostic look like someone who is just plain ignorant and has no hope of anything.
One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
One who is doubtful or noncommittal about something.
Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Me thinks I am need of a new dictionary!

I hate them but I try not to think about them (then why am I on this site??? Hmmmmmmmm!!!!) because I have to watch my blood pressure. I read a lot of books on forgiveness; but so far I haven't been able to reach that point.
Sometimes I wish I would get clunked on the head and suffer from selective amnesia concerning anything to do with my life in the borg.

poor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.
the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.
last weekend she actually looked a little better.

i do: shunning df/da'ers and others i was told were "weak" or "bad association"telling on fellow dubs to the elderscalling the rc church and being hostile/rude while demanding they remove my name as a parishoneranything and everything i did in field service and informal witnessingintentionally having a distant relationship with my "unbelieving" dad and other relativestelling my relatives i was planning on going to bethel, which broke their hearts (of course i never went, because it was a lie--my mom made me say that sh-t)sitting during the pledge of allegiance/national anthem or during prayers when attending funerals/weddings in other churches (imo it's intentionally disrespectful--obnoxious--why make the point of being in the room and then disrupt--they should just leave the room if they can't be polite)being judgementalparticipating in the kh grapevineobeying my jw whack mother's rules and all the other jw rules, and tolerating mental abuse--i feel guilty for not displaying basic self respect.allowing my mother to continue spanking me until i was 18, again which showed lack of self-respect (lol, on my high school graduation day, she tried to punch me and i held her hands back, said, "you are never going to hit me again.

Two great reads. I loved them so much I bought extra copies of each and donated them to our library. I had to do a "stealth" donation because the PO's wife works there. I hope she had to check them in....(evil laugh of glee)!!!!

i post here on and off but always read everyones post to see what's happening.
lately i have had this really strong desire to just say screw it this is who i am and write it here.
i told my husband who has never been a witness, but he is afraid that someone will try to df me.i have faded for a really long time.
If you're crazy than most everyone else here is too! Is it crazy to want to be free from enslavement by an organization that doesn't give a hoot (I'd like to use a stronger word but 'tis forbidden) about you? I think everyone's way of dealing with leaving is done in the manner best for them. Some people DA themselves. I think that gives them some sort of "closure". Other people don't do that because they feel it gives the org. too much power over them. From what I have heard on this forum, it seems like many people are doing the "fadeaway". This method of leaving is the easiest if you aren't always worried that BIG BROTHER is just waiting for you to make a false move. We personally opted for the "fadeaway" and don't give a rip if the good old boys club finds out that we are doing things not approved by their tiny little minds. If they DF us we don't care. They can't harm us anymore than they already have. I'm already shunned by my family so what else can they do? You can read all the experiences on this forum...but in the end you have to do what you feel is right for YOU.

i know there are mostly ex jw's on here.
i just wondered how many of you are ex jws, left or df'd, how many are still in but have lost heart?.
are there any jws on here who still believe its all the truth, go to meetings and trust the organisation?.
Hubby and I both raised as JW's. Left in our late 40's. He still believes in God & Christ. I am agnostic. Neither of us want to become involved in any kind of organized religion ever again. Neither of us DF'd or DA'd. Doing the "Fade". (Sounds like some sort of dance). But still shunned. It all made me so weary.
