How many DF'd and DA'd ex-JWs still believe it's the truth?

i just got off the phone with my sister-in-law.

we don't talk regularly at all - but today the discussion turned to our beliefs.

she's da'd herself 15 years ago, but she is still filled with guilt over not being able to live up to the standards of the witnesses.

Its hard to move on, because whenever you start to search for a TRUTH, yuo use thier own guidelines of what is truth, until you eradicate that, its hard to actually move on to another truth..

and it really used to annoy me that jesus and john the baptist both had such neat and well trimmed beards in the watchtower literature , how unlikley would that be in reality ?

also they never wore a suit so why do "true christians "have to wear one , is all about appearences by any chance and giving a false impression ?

My Brother inlaw is an Elder and my sister still is a JW. Me and her were talking today and the subject of molestation came up and she agreed that there were a ton of them out there in the congregation..She does fault the people for not taking the LEGAL matter and that the ELDERS can not tell them to do so - I kinda agree and do not (she said she can tell because she isnt an elder but that will weigh some problems on her husband).

What I did enjoy is that my brother in law is a free thinker, there was a story she told me that one of the young sisters - very early teens was manipulated by an elder who was in his 30's to have sexual relations with him..My brother in law was so mad hearing the story, Knowing he can not tell her to seek legal matter, he requested to be removed from the panel, the society had to assign an outside elder to fill in for him - he wrote a letter to the society about his stance on this.. Nothing was done outside that they BOTH got disfellowshipped..

I told my sister about silent lambs and she knows about it but called it an APOSTATE guided..she does NOT agree with the way the GB handles these cases. I even asked her if the society helps people with medical help on these situations where people are effected deeply, she said only sheparding of what she knows...One thing is that my sister told me if this happened to her children , that her and husband are going to bring who ever did it to them into legal matters.

Jesus was a false prophet....

i posted this on another thread, but if you read matthew 24, we see that jesus was indeed a false prophet... he doesn't give the day or hour of the end times but he says that this generation will not pass away until all these things occur... and what generation was he talking about?

he was talking to his diciples and telling them you will see this and that and thus and such....especially take a gander at matt 24: 33-36...jesus thought he was living in the last days and that he would come down from a cloud from the heavens...that stars would fall from the sky, and the like... just read it and tell me what you think.

i wonder if jesus was an essene, they thought they were living in the end of time, in fact they predicted a messiah would come during their days... .

i did a little research (new american bible) on this, and i found that when jesus calls himself "i am" in john 8:58 and was to get stoned because he was putting himself equal to god, due because in exodus 3:14, god tells moses "i am sent you"...but in the jwbible it states this entirely different.. .

john8;58, and i am is substituted for "i have been', then in exodus 3;14, "i am" is substituted for "i shall prove to be what i shall prove to be"..i have gone through several bibles again and again..and each one is the same in this accord, but not the jwbible.. .

it makes sense that i am should be kept in place since jesus was being stoned for using that same phrase - confirmed by hurling of the stones, but then in exodus in the jw, not even the same phrase in used...inconsistent .

Thanks Rocky..of all the bibles i have seen, and even those that have John 1:1 as "a god", that those who translated them, at best to my knowledge, believe that Jesus was GOD with the exception of the Watchtower..unfortunately, what i am feeling at this moment, i do not trust any ONE translation and this lends itself as to why the Qu'ran points back to this, how men have corrupted THE BOOK(the bible).. why does the Watchtower believe in jesus dying on a stake? when even they use the Diaglott as a ref back, has CRUXIFICATION. Luke 23:33. They superimpose it as IMPALED HIM??
