    Hello everyone,

There has been some talk recently on JWD about disfellowshipping, and some questions regarding what would get you DF'ed.

Not all the answers provided have been accurate, so I thought I would share some info that would help clarify everything for anyone who was interested.

Here is the numbered list of 15 specific disfellowshipping offenses from the Elders Handbook....

    1. Manslaughter
    2. Sexual misconduct, including adultery, fornication, and other forms of "porneia"
    3. Apostasy
    4. Drunkenness
    5. Steiling, thievery, fraud
    6. Deliberate, mailicious lying; bearing false witness
    7. Reviling, slander
    8. Obscene speech
    9. Failure to abstain from blood
    10. Greed - gambling, extortion
    11. Adamant refusal to provide material for one's own family
    12. Nonneautral activities
    13. Fits of anger, violence
    14. Misuse of tobacco or addictive drugs
    15. Loose conduct

Let me know if anyone requires any clarifiying information on any of this. I will be unavailable for a while, but I'll answer any questions later.

    later,

thats weird to call non-believe in 1914 apostacy if they no longer believe in it themselves...or am I missing something..

Not believing in something specific is an interesting one....

Technically you can't be disfellowshipped for not believing...however you can get nailed for apostasy as soon as you start talking about your disbelief to others.

If anyone wants to do a fade, and doesn't want to be disfellowshipped a great tactic is to tell the elders that there is something you are having trouble believing.

In fact your conscience is bothering you.

You need to also stress that you do not want to speak to anyone about the exact issue for fear that their faith may be weakened - not even the elders because the last thing you want to do is to weaken anyone else's faith (haahaa). And then you add that your own viewpoint is probably wrong and that hopefully your own thoughts will change on the matter, until then I will simply "wait on Jehovah" until either my own viewpoint changes or if some new light arrives that makes me feel better. You stress that you love Jehovah and the truth....then it's bye bye time.

That is just one suggestion out of many that may be tried. Much of the approach will depend on your specific circumstances and your own personality.

Thanks Blondie.... But I only told one elder that I had never believed Jesus came invisably ... Then we were preparing to go out in service. He asked me "Do you still not believe that Jesus came invisably in 1914?" I said "Yes" He said " Well I dont think you can go with us is service this afternoon"

Then the next day the "wt trinity" came for a visit>>>>3 elders.... Told me they would study with me again to prove the invisable presence of Jesus ,I said "NO!!!! I read part of C of C. " & boy the foot up the rear end came two weeks later.....

I cried when they D/F me ....I said "what if I commit suicide?" One of them shrugged. after 25 years of Faithful service. two year after the death of my husband who had told me several times " If I kick the bucket the WT wont look after you woman" Hey I was married to a prophet.....LOL

Funny slander is one, because in court DFing could be viewed as slander.

Unrepetant behavior but that is the cover for how it really works to limit liability from lawsuits.
