JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?
by KateWild ini saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.
they were not actively approaching anyone.
what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses is considering a sale of the majority of its UK property portfolio.
by JHK inevery thing goes to heaven... what about money?.
http://www.egi.co.uk/news/jw-sale-to-watch-out-for/.
the properties are generally located in strong residential areas and interest is expected from residential developers and investors, retirement and care home providers, and hotel companies.. ibsa was not prepared to put a value on the portfolio but its most recent accounts for the year ended 31 august 2014 reported total fixed assets of £73m.

I wouldn't be surprised in excess of a £100m for the properties around the Mill Hill area, I wouldn't mind betting the ultra orthodox groups involved with the Brooklyn sell offs involved, prime real estate of huge value in that area, in the heart of a very wealthy Jewish community

astonishing reply's and they talk about unity in this so called life saving global message which only they do! the apathy carts sum up the lazy wasteful way that the R&F plod along not even seaming to care anymore.

Why are some that post here JW apologists?
by ctrwtf inmy rant tonight is against the quasi religious apologists that post on this board.
those who at once rail against the jw's then later talk about how "orderly" and "neat" the witnesses are at their conventions.
those who site the benefits of bloodless surgery to some who have the luxury and time to actually make an educated choice, while ignoring the tens of thousands who've died because they happen to be in an accident or succumb to a disease for which there is no other treatment.. i understand the power of cognitive dissonance.

these carefully selected PR sound bites that the WTS used to use especially at the time of DC's dont cover over the reality of what really happens at them especially when they used to be held in vast stadiums, firstly the traffic comes to a complete standstill for a least 5 hours per day in those baking hot summer days pollution levels far exceed the daily maximum, no amount of their volunteer car park attendants/marshals can do anything about the traffic levels, since the food service was taken away from them because of the blatant disregard for health and safety we no longer hear these ridiculous stories how the army etc want to experience first hand how they cater for so many thousands, nor do we hear the experiences from local residents who live near the the local pub where they congregate after the final Sunday, I was there one particular night when they drank the pub "dry" or seeing the countless amounts of young Dubs completely drunk, vast amounts of hotels around RC centres are only too pleased to see the back of the thousands of jw's frequenting them, the local authorities/police/army etc dont seem to be so forthright these days in giving these glowing reports.

Mill Hill - Chelmsford, reduced capacity, any news on Chelmsford plan revision
by Lostandfound inchelmsford looks to have much less work than in mill hill complex, if gb spirit guided why did they allow massive plans for new site when such significant changes must have been in discussion, planning , or contemplation.
knee jerk reaction to things looks to indicate someone or more on gb has instituted changes almost overnight.
my dog plans his day better, get up, walk, sleep, eat, walk some more, eat some more, and sleep again.

you can just see it digital media and internet coverage when the end comes is sparse or non existent and the WT will be transporting thousands of tonnage of huge paper reams delivered by articulated trucks to Chelmsford so the masses can have their WT/Awakes/books in printed form again, all the while doing this in subterfuge and secrecy so as to not alert the authorities! seems logical.

we used to have a study turn up called Steve, an old hippy clearly taken far too much LSD over the years, didn't have a close relationship with soap and water either, apparently he turned up to the book study in the KH and took his shoes and socks off.

13 year anniversary
by gerry intoday marks 13 years since my wife and i have stepped inside a kingdom hall.
after 29 years full on being a jw and a number of years serving as an elder then as the presiding overseer we pulled the plug.
yes 13 years ago coming home from the first day of a circuit assembly i said to my wife “that’s it i am not going back”.

Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline
by slimboyfat ini was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.
until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.
but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

my recent monitoring of their cart activity definitely seems to show some slowing down in their cart presence in the areas that I frequent, in these last couple of weeks the cart has been out far less in my local town, I'd see it every day from about 9 onwards and it seemed that way for as long as I can remember, I've not seen it much at all in recent weeks, I've just popped out and its not there today, in the adjoining town with a far bigger shopping area and high street I've not seen it at all in recent months, the last time I saw it about a year ago I was able to speak to the young guy manning it, I mentioned the ARC, he told me his group are from a local Portuguese congregation, on my way to work I pass two very busy Tube stations and would regularly see the carts on a weekly occurrence, nothing there at all now for some months, maybe the apathy is really hitting the R&F. -

Update on My Journey: 8 Years After the End of Watchtower Control
by passwordprotected ini last updated you guys almost 2 years ago here.. i thought i'd post an update.. the peace i discovered having decided to let the angst, worry and fear over what to believe is as strong as ever, although i am keeping more abreast of what jw.org (formerly known as wtbts) is up to, and i never cease to be shocked and surprised.. as my last post mentioned, i split from the jw girl i married in 1993 and both of us have moved on with new partners that better fit who we are as grown adults, rather than the children we were 23 years ago.. my partner has no religious background whatsoever, although her children are being raised as catholics by their father.
hearing her kids openly doubt, question and even ridicule the religion is heartwarming and exactly the way it should be.. as for my children, they continue to be a never-ending stream of joy and pride.. my oldest son is now 16, having been only 8 years old when we left the watchtower.
he had big anxiety problems for a while afterwards, worrying about armageddon etc.
