LeavingWT - it's 1056 pryamid inches to the left in the large tunnel of the the 3rd pryamid to the east! Safely stowed in the aluminium bucket next to the vaccination bottles.

It may be tricky to find because it's covered in Rand share certificates! It is a bit gloomy in there because of the fog of UN denials - but new light is wonderful stuff. Oh, and there is a further complication - seems somebody has dumped a file of 26,000+ names of potential peadophiles right over the entrance hall.

for the first time today, when my boss asked what i'm going to be doing for thanksgiving, i didn't have to go into this awkward explaination of why i don't celebrate it.

i simply said that i'm going over my aunt's.

it may sound trivial but it feels great!

Public Defamation = DF'd ???

this is probably too simple and perhaps to good to be true but the wtbts practice of officially announcing a person by name at a meeting to be "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses", combined with the wtb literature that clearly states how to 'treat' such named person is a clear act of public defamation of the named person... an act that one would maybe have legal grounds on which to take out a lawsuit???.

i suspect this is an angle that may have been over looked from a legal perspective.... it's just a thought.... do we have any lawyers in the house???.

If the act of disfellowshipping was defaming or impuning the person's chararcter then there would be a case to answer. That is why some time ago they saying "for cinduct unbecoming a christian" - now they just say "no longer a JW".

a "Blood" experience...

i was speaking with a lady today & found out she's been a nurse in the blood transfusion unit at our hospital for the past 15 years.

i said, "i have an off-the-wall question for you...i was having a discussion with somebody about jehovah's witnesses.

i know they're not allowed to get blood transfusions but they can get fractions, right?

His illustration was that fractions would be like to taking a gun (a thing that kill) and taking it all apart and then reusing the screws, individual components etc.

Let me see..... "Abstain from guns!" Have nothing to do with guns. They are deadly...... ok, on this basis you can't even begin to think of using the screws in a different scenario. Working it through from their logic it's a no-brainer. As far as blood is concerned (and from their logic) it should be poured out on the ground. Likewise, the screws from a gun.

You simply cannot have two different standards of the same rule!

I do wonder at their idiotic reasoning sometimes.

Always.... jealousy related inadequate elder!

Constantly saying this and that..... always untrue but came to a head when an older sister who was the mother of my friend asked my why she and her daughters were not welcome in my house anymore! She was like a mum to me so why would I say such a thing? Turns out it came from this inconsequent bread-roundsman! Makes a change from a window-cleaner!

Who remembers the Circuit Orchestra's? How good was yours?

in the days before 'simplification', the days of 3 day circuit assemblies (fri evening plus sat & sun), when we used have catering departments that cooked and served up hot meals, we also used to have circuit orchestras.. i must say ours was pretty poor though, only matched by the lacklustre singing.. eyeslice.

(bee in his bonnet since mrs eyeslice went to singing practice at local kh on sunday evening).

I played in that same orchestra. It was good - all to a very high standard (even though I say it myself). Bev was a classically trained concert violinist - his mum, Hazel, used to play with us as well, she was nearly as good as her son! I remember Jim introducing himself to me - "Hi, I'm JB - a baffoonist!" - nice guy. I must admit it was so enjoyable, allowing us to use our god-given abilities to entertain others, then it stopped. What a waste! So much talent - SCRAPPED! The more I think about this contextually, those that stopped it were really slapping god in the face!

After 35+ plus I'm back playing again (high brass) but it's a stuggle..... it always come back to me, what a complete waste of my abilities. Boy, does it hurt me - so much wasted talent (not mine, but all those that will never be allowed to develop). High minded arrogance of a religion!

Another thing that bugged me....... how come they used 'professional' musicians to record the cassettes whatever? Thsoe people must have been allowed to develop and yet the GB wanted to stifle and suppress their own! Grrrrrr! double Grrrr!
