KM - "What to Say About the Magazines"
by starfish422 ini was just looking over some of the scans of the km; now, i haven't seen a km for almost ten years, so maybe this isn't that new: but when did they start providing publishers with a presentation for the wt and awake magazines?
i remember sweating over my presentation every time new mags were featured.
when did this start?.

when did they start providing publishers with a presentation for the WT and Awake magazines?
When they came to the realization that the publishers where not reading the magazines or not getting out in service because they didn't have time to think up a presentation.
When they came to the realization that they have lost the best and brightest publishers and they needed to dumb things down to motivate publishers to get out.
To keep the publishers from having to think for themselves on how to give a presentation, then they can count on the publishers not thinking for themselves on everything else.
Just a few possibilites.

by BATHORY inim not sure if is prudent to post this here.
i have a contact ( relative ) that is very close to a writing department researcher.. he claims that there was a private extraordinary meeting that was had about 6 months ago.
9 of the gb members were present and a handfull of elitists that apparently no-one knows or would recognise.

How do they keep 9 GB members awake at the same time for 1 1/2 hours?

For those who are expecting a visit, how will you handle them when they come? I resent the fact that the only reason they will be knocking on my door is because of this campain. I quit going to meetings a year ago and have not had a phone call or visit from one single elder since I dropped off the radar.
I can't decide if I should use passive resistence or tell them how I really feel.
What will you do with they come visit you?

Rich, If you are for real, get to NA/AA meetings. You said that you have been to hudreds in ten years and they didn't help. Maybe that wasn't enough. I live in a city of only 50,000 and there are NA/AA meetings every night of the week because some people need to go every day.
When was the last time you went to a NA/AA meeting?
You said you came here for enourangement and support for your problem and that is exactly what you get at NA/AA meetings, but from folks who have/are in your same shoes not a group who will look at your problem as no more than a sin that you want to do.
Did you come here for encouraagement and suppport or sympathy? Yeah, you will get sympathy at the kingdom hall for period of time, but back slide a few times and this loving organization will judge you a sinner and throw you out.
What ever you decided, I wish you the best on your recovery.

Friendly warning for JW lurkers re: blood in food
by Kingpawn ini work in a meat-processing plant in the us.
one of the products we make is the stuff that becomes roast beef.
i can't tell who for, and we're not their only supplier, but they're big enough to advertise nationwide in america, so..... anyway, when we do our part on my line, before the meat's sent to the next step, we drip blood from the meat's box in the container the raw meat's dumped into.

Ever wonder to what extent Noah might have bled his meat? Think he got 100% of the blood out? I doubt it.
The point is to be so obsesive that you would die in order to obstain from blood, you probably shouldn't be eating any meat either.
I know many wintesses, myself included, who ejoyed a nice
bloodyjuicy steak after the meeting on Sunday. -

I just left the orginization.
by rocker inhey hows everyone doing... i am a resident of edmonton in canada, and i am only 16 years old, i just left the jw religion.
i just knew it wasnt in my heart, my parents dont care but i told them that i dont want to go to any meeting or talk to any of our old friends.. they still dont know why..but i fell like it was to much of a currupted situation..i felt like i was taking orders from man, not from god.
i was not baptized yet, but i was going strong in the ministry as a unbaptized publisher.

A big load of crap
by somebody inif this isn't a big load of bullcrap, i don't know what is!
4/92 kingdom ministry while the information presented in our kingdom ministry is in the form of suggestions and not rigid rules, it is still a fine source of reference material that should be a part of each congregation kingdom hall library.. .
can you imagine what would happen to jws who have disfellowshipped and da'd family members who didn't obey the rigid rules on how to treat their family members in the august 2002 kingdom ministry?

How would they word the "sin" on the form they send to their leaders/headquarters?
Causing divisions in the congregation is the catch all. If you don't agree with the elders and give them any trouble you are causing divisions. They can apply it to anything even if they can't back up their "ridged rules" with scripture. Seen it first hand.
There was a similar quote in a WT magazine recently anyone remember what it was? Something to the effect that true christains do not make hard and ridged rules.....
Thanks for the quote, I may use it in the future.
