  where to start?.

  i thought about typing out a nutshelled life history but changed my mind.

  suffice it to say, i was born into "the truth," attempted suicide at 14, "lost my faith" at this time, beat into submission into carrying on as usual, endured a horrible marriage and equally horrible divorce, and am more or less still in it (appearances only!

  Is Your Life THAT Much Better Off Since Leaving The Witnesses?

  witnesses love to say how "miserable" the "apostates" are when they .

  leave "the truth".. how would you respond to this statement from your own personal experience?

  sorry this has turned out longer than i thought.anyway i lived the life of a single mother fell away from the organisation,and eventually met a (worldly) guy who is the most loving guy i have ever met,my best friend,lover and soulmate.i was disfellowshipped 4 months ago because we live with each other and plan to get married in september,unacceptable to the society hence my disfellowshipping.it has broke my mum and dads heart and im so so sorry for this,i love them so much,but no longer want or believe in the jw beliefs.

  i still believe in god but dont know where im bound as regards my faith,i really do want to have something.

  apart from my mum and dad and the shunning arrangement im so happy,the happiest i have ever been in years,and my 2 youngest ones are happy as well..my eldest daughter is 16 and planning on getting baptised in july which is tearing me apart,she is so like me,but is being brainwashed by a certain crowd of witnesses,need i say anymore...my eldest son who is 18 isnt in the truth and feels the same way i do... anyway thanks for this forum and hope to hear from likeminded friends soon.

  An interesting discussion with my wife

  last night i had an interesting talk with my wife in bed.. oprah had a show on recently about gays.

  now i don't normally watch oprah, but she was watching a taped one in the evening, so i was just overhearing stuff.

  anyway, i think my wife puts more faith in oprah than in the gb :).

  I think most JW's live in fear. They are fearful to express how they really feel on matters due to reprisal. Most JW friendship is conditional. They are your friends as long as you measure up to what the FDS class says you should be doing. The moment you slack off in field service, miss meetings, not comment at WT study, skip assemblys, leave early from the meetings (this was on of my favorites, we would leave after the announcements right before the service meeting).

  Perhaps your wife will come around in time. It sounds like she is more open minded now and that is big for a dub.

  Dinosaurs, Homenids,and Jehovah's Witnesses (Oh My!)....

  so this hit me the other day, i distinctly remember on stage and otherwise jehovah's witnesses have no problem admitting that there were dinosaurs on the earth.

  in fact alot of times they would say that god used dinosaurs to get the earth ready for humans to inhabit it.

  however at the same time many jehovah's witnesses defiantly deny the existence of early homenids.

  The JW will accept anything as long as it FITS into thier agenda. We studied the book, Life how did it get here I do not know how many times. It was often the offer for the month too throughtout the year.

  You only get one chance at life. Do not let the WTS steal anymore of it. The time to act is now, take control and do what is right for you. If that means no meetings then just stop going.
