  i reported the other night that we sat down to watch the new video, and while my wife was smiling and laughing while watching the first part, she stiffened and became quiet during part two.

  Notice how Mr Facts and AskDuane portray that video as coming FROM JEHOVAH himself. LOL

  even when I was a JW, I had a buffer between the GB and Jehovah, now there is no buffer. In 2012 the GB, & FDS IS Jehovah!

  a controversial coney island principal has pulled the plug on patriotism.. her refusal to let students sing god bless the usa at their graduation has sparked fireworks at a school filled with proud immigrants.. greta hawkins, principal of ps 90, the edna cohen school, wont allow kindergartners to belt out the beloved lee greenwood ballad, also known as proud to be an american, at their moving-up ceremony.. context: middle correlation photo five classes spent months learning the patriotic song, which skyrocketed in popularity after the 9/11 attacks and the 2003 invasion of iraq.it was to be the rousing finale of their musical show at the june 20 commencement.

  the kids, dressed up for their big day, would wave tiny american flags which, as the lyrics proclaim, still stand for freedom.. but hawkins marched in on a recent rehearsal and ordered a cd playing the anthem to be shut off, staffers said.. she told the teachers to drop the song from the program.. we dont want to offend other cultures, they quoted her as explaining.. the curt edict stunned both staff and parents.. a lot of people fought to move to america to live freely, so that song should be sung with a whole lot of pride, said mom luz lozada, whose son, daniel, is in kindergarten.. the song has been sung at previous school events.

  last years fifth-graders, including another lozada child, performed it at graduation.. everybody applauded and whistled, the mom said.

  ignoring the rantings from the JW's lunitic, my wife showed this video to her friend who is still in, but is considered "weak" by the other cult members. she has always shyed away from youtube, etc. but this video really pissed her off, at first like many, she thought it was fake. but then when she saw the GB intro, she knew it was real. her response is to boycott her convention, and the next morning she texted my wife and blamed her waking up late on sparlock, so that was funny and telling.

  im so glad the society did this, what a mistake, LOL

  wha happened is correct, when my mother was taking care of her mother she would have to miss meetings sometimes. the jw's would keep encouraging her to just put her in a home so she doesnt have to take care of her. in addition, back in the mid 90's, taking care of sick parents was a normal thing that was respected, but now not only is taking your df'd family member to the doctor not "family business", but even if they are jw's you are still told not to allow the sick parent to infringe in any way on your meeting attandance, service time, and all the millions of things jw's have to do. they are getting crazy.

  i also remember when my wife's mother's husband was sick with cancer, we got alot of heat for going over there and bringing groceries because her mom is DA'd.

  it's perhaps sad, but perhaps a bit of wisdom to come to realize how insignificant jws really are.. .

  you finally get to the point where you don't even care what happens to the borg one way or another.. .

  I can say I no longer care about JW's themselves, for example I no longer care if I see them in the store, etc. But I am interested in what the watchtower is doing, and also reading peoples stories, etc. So I come here every day and read. I dont think being over it can be measured by if you come to this site. In addition, you'll never not be an ex-jw, this religion formed who are are like it or not.

  maybe i am being unreasonable, but i would not allow any jw to adopt because of the blood issue. now, if there is a legal document that they can sign stating that they want the courts to take over and give blood, then fine, adopt away. but i dont feel right putting a child in a situation where the parents would allow them to die. in addition, you can make a great argument that any family in a cult should not be able to adopt. but again, perhaps i am harsh, but i do feel strongly this way.

  im interested in what other people think about this.

  he said this with such arrogance and smug certainty!

  what deals would have to be done and how would this manifest itself if they were to remain as the only religion?.

  years ago, it seemed like the buildings would not make it through armegeddon, and JW's would survive, and rebuild in the new system. but now, any time the subject is brought up by zone visits, etc, it seems they think the buildings will somehow survive. they talk about patterson like they are building it for the new system, LOL

  i've read many praiseworthy comments lauding the site or people behind it.

  but in reality, what major good have they done to change jehovah's witnesses' views on blood?.

  i can only speak for myself, but that site, and the way the information is presented was the first step in me coming out of the org. it explains the whole blood thing very well.

  A message from youtube regarding negative votes on Sparlock videos

  i don't seem to be making myself clear these days.

  .

  there has been so many "dislikes" on sparlock clips i received a message from youtube.. i asked for people to "like" the videos instead of "dislike" because this will also push the videos to the top of searches and hopefully get more views especially for jws searching from it .. i am now getting abuse.. please can people "like" the clips so the balance between like and dislike gets reversed.. ty x.

  thats a major flaw in the youtube system, i often dislike videos i see based on content, like for example, if a non-homopobe posts an anti gay video like "hey, isnt this video f'd up?", i will click dislike. now that i know, you can get dinged by youtube, i will have to change how i do it.

  thats going to be hard to click like on some videos. maybe i'll just abstain.
